The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
Man I need to get back to posting more on the forums. I seem to be missing all the good info. I really need to find away to get back into FFXI. Haven t had the urge to play in sooo long. This may be just what I need to get back into the swing of it.
May have been the wrong post about good info. Thread was started and hit page 14 before any info was released lol, one big banter thread lol. And wait we wereon topic for more then a page and a half?
It wasn't meteor. I'll see if I can find teh video when I get home and have access to more websites.
The animation didn't include the AoE meteors, it was a single-target spell. It was also cast by a female Hume BLM, so it wasn't a .dat from a mob I don't believe.

AV's Meteor is AoE isn't it?
I thought the spell that had many Meteors was Meteo, and that Meteor was a single big Meteor. But I could be wrong, haven't played other FFs in a while. o.O

Since the first time AV was spawned, there have been various rumors and theories over how to weaken or defeat it. These deal particularly with the problem of AV's Two Hour abilities and highly damaging spells.
Various rumors among others included Ebon Panels, attacking with jailer weapons, killing various NMs in the same area, or quickly damaging it below 95%. At one point, the tactic that appeared the most successful in sealing his damaging moves was repeatedly killing the wynavs he summons at the same time; some Linkshells were able to kill AV several times by using this strategy.
On occasion, it has been known to appear to stop using 2-hour abilities, but still cast magic and perform TP moves. When this occurs, dropping Absolute Virtue's HP to 79% causes it to begin casting Meteor and Comet constantly without the aid of Manafont and Chainspell. Allowing Absolute Virtue to heal back to 100% HP will not fix this.
Currently, Absolute Virtue is an enigma. Strategies that were once successful have been rendered incapable by continued modifications of Absolute Virtue's behavior. It remains to be seen if the development team will reveal the secret, much like they did with the Goblin Drink recipe.
(According to the Wings of the Goddess interview FFXIclopedia had with the developers, you can lower its Auto-Regen by defeating the monsters around it.)

But... WB Tazirai!
Thanks mate, but any idea on what new jobs available? Im at work and my connection wont allow access to alot of sites? I really am out of touch. hehe /derail
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
SE has said nothing about the new jobs yet other than their only real concern with them is how they will balance against the other jobs and not what roles they play.
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
Well, TGS is September 20th and we'd definately have new images and a new trailer by then. I'd wager the new jobs - if only in name and characters in AF - will turn up on POL within the next few weeks.
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
Hopefully after seeing how fast some of the people went with the leveling of jobs when they came out, they'll Include things like that right at the start... Maybe not though so they can have the AF set to how the players make the jobs?
Yay, Ty for this Eohmer~
Silentsteel - Taru of Awesomeness on Valefor
80 Whm, 86 Drg, 40 Sam, 37 Blm, 31 Smn, & lower as it goes down... I have way too much play time for no levels, lol.
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
SE played it smart with ToA AFs, though, they kicked back and watched how people played the jobs before finalizing the AFs, the result was AF that was far more modern and practical than most of the prior AFs.
RDM and BST AFs were good all around for the most part, but many sets were hit or miss. My BRD and DRG AFs were all kinds of useless. RNG AF had some longevity to it, but hands, head and legs are outpaced by current options. Only AF I use now is hands for Shadowbind.
So I'd rather SE not rush the AFs, that's just pandering to the people that bumrushed the jobs to 75.
I'd just rather they didn't repeat how you obtain the ToA AFs. Let's go back to keeping it free with coffer hunts instead of crafted gougefests.
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
I have to agree with BBQ, Sure SE might be able to guess just what we will do with the jobs. But if SE waited to see how people used the jobs like sam and ninja, perhaps their AF would have more to do with what they do now, than what SE thought they would be.
Re: The OFFICIAL "Wings of the Goddess" @ E3 2007 Thread!
yeah DRK is the perfect example of AF gone wrong. The head is the only good piece and that's *only* because of the Souleater mod (the +1 pieces are great but they hardly count in this argument)
