    In the soon-to-be released version update, we plan to introduce "Group 2" abilities for the blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster jobs. We will also be increasing the maximum limit for point allocation in the "Combat Skills" and "Magic Skills" merit point categories for all jobs.

    New Merit Point Category for Blue Mage, Corsair, and Puppetmaster

    In the upcoming version update, we will be adding the "Group 2" merit point category for blue mages, corsairs, and puppetmasters.
    Each of these jobs will gain access to four new job abilities and traits that should prove invaluable in a variety of situations. See the tables below for a description of each ability.



    *Convergence will also increase the power of blue magic spells that are originally single target effects.



    Maximum Point Allocation for Combat Skills and Magic Skills
    The maximum limit for point allocation in the "Combat Skills" and "Magic Skills" merit point categories will be increased for all jobs.

    "Combat Skills" maximum total ability increases:
    12 > 20

    "Magic Skills" maximum total ability increases:
    8 > 16

    *The maximum limit for each of the abilities within these categories will remain unchanged.

    Further adjustments will be announced on the day of the version update.

    Maybe I don't know much about BLU and PUP, but it seems like COR got the lion's share of benefit here.

      to me it looks as though Blu gets a nice chunk of abilities as well.

        I suppose. I don't see much to cheer about there (but giving support abilities to everyone in range is kind of nifty). It'll be interesting to see how much the TP, Power and Point bonuses are.

        edit: On second look, I guess they are pretty even there. I just liked how measurable COR's merits were.

            I'm more interested in the magic and weapon skill caps

            aka: thanks SE! solved some issues for both mages, melee, and mixed jobs. (as in, can now do two weapons and a defensive trait to full.)

              Yay I just capped Combat skills last night. So now how do I chose my new 8 merits.

                Considering most attack blue magic is unusable at most camps because of the AoE, Convergence is actually a really big deal.

                Yay for increased magic skill merit cap! ^^ Now I can go after those enfeebling magic skill merits without worrying about screwing my future blu or smn out of merits for their skill.

                    BLU - Job Ability - Convergence - Increases the power of your next magical blue magic spell. Limits area to single target.*

                    BLU - Job Ability - Diffusion - Grants the effect of your next blue magic spell to party members within range.

                    BLU - Job Ability - Enchainment - Grants a TP bonus to Chain Affinity.

                    BLU - Job Ability - Assimilation - Increases Maximum Blue Magic points.

                    COR - Job Ability - Snake Eye - Your next roll will automatically be a 1.

                    COR - Job Ability - Fold - Erases one roll or bust effect. Targets self-cast effect with the longest duration.

                    COR - Job Ability - Winning Streak - Extends the duration of Phantom Roll effects.

                    COR - Job Ability - Loaded Deck - Focuses effect of Random Deal on abilities waiting on recast. Has a chance to fail if only one ability is waiting on recast.

                    PUP - Job Ability - Role Reversal - Swaps HP of Master and Automaton.

                    PUP - Job Ability - Ventriloquy - Swaps the enmity of master and automaton for target.

                    PUP - Job Ability - Fine-Tuning - Grants a bonus to your automaton's accuracy, ranged accuracy, evasion, and magic defense.

                    PUP - Job Ability - Optimization - Grants a bonus to your automaton's attack, defense, and magic attack.

                    *Convergence will also increase the power of blue magic spells that are originally single target effects.

                      Now we can max out two weapons and an evasion skill! No more agonizing over archery vs great katana merits! (or Archery and Marks if I ever go back to RNG)

                        Another awesome update. I am glad they waited to release G2 merits on new jobs until they had a chance to see what they needed.

                        The combat and magic increase is long overdue though...

                          This makes me hate RDM group II merits even more.
