I almost lost it when I saw this part:

New NPCs have been stationed in Bastok, San d'Oria, and Windurst offering teleportation to Aht Urhgan Whitegate. A small fee is planned for the service.

That right there would be enough for me to consider this a great version update. Screw the fees, who cares about small fees? Even poor people will shout from the rooftops!

I think it funny that lowering the level of OP warps was a very very recent "Ask S-E" question. Well... now we have our answer.

Then there's the great irony of chocobos. Choco-gals at the Olduum platform is what we ask for before we get a main town -> AU warp. It'll be decidedly less useful feature since the Olduum Ring will go out of style even more. Still, nice as another means of free teleport from an exp zone or what have you. (2 cudgels often isn't enough).

And Ameroth, no bad blood intended. I would say the same thing if someone prayed to Tom Cruise and someone else said "dude, he's not a god now get over it."

Kinda pissed the olduum ring is now little more than a daily warp cudgel. I mean, they made a story behind it and everything.

It wasn't that hard to walk to whitegate. A two minute trip tops. And putting a chocobo stable girl there kinda kills what little story there was... not to mention it makes the COR AF quest CS at the Leypoint incredibly weird.
