    Re: Accounts Banned (Apr. 25)

While in the hands of RMT I can agree that it's not really effecting inflation. But when a player buys 5,10 or 15 million gil, that can serious effect inflation. They are likely the type of people that spend a lot of gil fast, creating a "false" demand for a product.

As a crafter I usually save all my crystals, but when I need a stack of fire crystals, I start bidding at 300, and move up in increments till I get the lowest priced stack on the AH. I do the same with gear and consumables for my jobs as well. But a person who doesn't put in the time to farm thier gil and therefore understand the value of thier gil, will just pay about the price of the last sold item. They'll pay way to much for HQ pieces, making it harder for legit players to acquire items.

Not only that, RMTs activities to aquire the gil hurts the economy. It's hard for a crafter to sell thier wares when there's an RMT crafter pumping out the same items 24/7. Or near impossible to get an O. Kote when there's an RMT bot standing there camping the NM. Or aquire anything from a drop that RMT's monopolize.

There actions make it harder for legit players to make gil, and therefore encourage frustrated players to just buy thier gil. In the mean time, those players are causing inflation with thier bought gil (and probably putting some of the gil back into the hands of RMT to sell again).

I like knowing how much gil they remove, it's kind of like a standard of how effective thier efforts were. It may not of been causing inflation at the time, but it would of if they weren't banned and was sold to someone playing the game that would ultimatly blow it at the closest AH.

-Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
      Approx. 2200cases
*The above number reflects the total number of accounts banned within the period of a month. This does not include individual cases handled by GMs.
They never say what the particular action/s were do they?

For all we know, it could be another 2200 summoning skillbots biting the dust :/

Which actually might explain the lack of summoners when I try to make a party

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

At first I wish this was the case, but I rather SE fix the whole issue together because this is just one hole created by deflation. They are more and they will be others.

Letting crafters NPC their items for more would be nice. That way we get rid of some of that nasty Item inflation.

btw, it's nice to see the RMT have less money to lose in general. If they were still losing hundreds of billions of gil at a time still, I'd be worried.

Its funny how we ALWAYS, ALWAYS talk about the numbers per server and RMT in general with this mass bannings announcements.

this would rather neatly solve several issues in the current system, actually.

              Banned = banned. Period.

It's SE, not SOE. SE is SquareEnix. SOE is Sony Online Entertainment.

"Return to Vana'diel" is an annual promotion to bring back former players that have quit for whatever reason (leaving for another MMO, quitting gaming, financial, dog died, whatever). It doesn't bring back banned accounts, it's to bring back people that quit, were gone longer than a year, and their characters auto-deleted. SquareEnix keeps backups, and can often restore those characters during said event.

And before someone complains how there will be less people to party with, I'd rather lfg for 12 hours than deal with RMT and their scum.

Do people really complain about there being fewer warm bodies to party with after an RMT ban? Wow.

by the time this was posted the remaining RMT who didn't get banned already filled that 2.7 bil gil hole.

                        Re: Accounts Banned (Apr. 25)

I looked back at past SE announcements, and noticed that this is the 3rd month in a row where they announced a mass banning. I knew it seemed to be happening fairly regularly, but I didn't realize just how quickly these bannings have been coming.

In February's banning, 50 billion gil was removed. In March, a whopping 134 billion gil was removed. The 2.8 billion gil this time around seems to pale in comparison. It could be due to deflation, and this is the amount they've been able to gather since being hit by the previous bans. Or perhaps it's a sign that RMT have learned how to hide their gil better.

I had seen that RMT was banned, but the stupid "{Kirin's Osode}, {Byakko's Haidaite}, {Crimson Cuisses} {Do you need it?} aawapwad (Insert chinese here)" character was still shouting. So they missed one. >.<

actaully on alot of servers jp/hk players were the first to sell sky drops before the rmts got sky. And it isnt against the rule to buy lotting rights, its very low to not earn your items but nothing in the ToS about it.

It's not against that ToS if you're buying lotting rights with gil, but it is if they are paying actual cash for them. I've never responded so I'm not sure how exactly those people do business.

Well I somehow don't think that a level 1 character is planning on making it to Sky anytime soon.
