Hmm...
Looking back on Iris's origonal submission (last page) I think it would have been better if I diddn't tell her to drop all the blood and gore. It seems plain without it.

Anyways, I can tell why some of the 'lesser quality' ones got picked. Most of these pictures here look the same. Sure they're beautiful, but they really don't depict anything genuinely unique compared to the winners. I guess that's what SE was looking for, pieces that "stand out" rather than just look pretty.

Oh, and can we refrain from stating personal opinions on announcement posts? Thanks.

I had not realized it was going to be an announcement post when I made it, hence the comments. I removed them because you asked so nicely, however, and I'll put them here =D


I think some of these are gorgeous, and I wish they had made it instead of some of the ones that won *coughBeastmenWomencough*. My personal favorite has to be Bastok Rose on page 9 =D Some of them are kinda..... yeah.... *pokes the Mithra pr0n one*. Also, even though it is not exceptional art, I love love love the one with Courier Carrie, if just for the concept.

Seemed to be a lot of love for Prishe and Ulmia... which is odd since everyone pisses and moans about CoP, how hard the missions are how long the cutscenes are.

So few COR art.

Oh, about the winnners.

Iris won a Nomad Moogle Rod for her placment in the game. It has 50 charges of giving other people an EX Moogle Pie. I don't know if this was already stated.

Iris had to have hers exchanged as the first one she received had 0 charges left in it.

The encounter with the GM that gave it to her was quite amusing, I got to witness.

I was hopping for more diverse art work and not so much taru, mithra and any other female char in FFXI...pretty disapointing and knowing everyone who entered has some pathetic sexual fantasy about mithra....

Wasn't this one a 'females only' contest where the pics needed to be of FFXI women?

I got the feeling a similar contest for the guys might show up for the "Feast of Swords" event >_>
