    Re: (3/30/2007) Presenting the New Player's Guide!

    Well, anyone who is coming here and complaining that they can't access the internet is obviously a liar, but I suppose there could be other folks out there who don't have a PC to access the internet with.

    If you want a list of quests for a newbie under level 10 to do, you can find those with a simple search. If you look under quests, and then select by your nation, and then select the fame level, you have everything right there for you. This is all via the first page of the wiki. It doesn't require typing in a search query. It just requires clicking your mouse a few times.

    The same can be said for missions, creating a character, crafting, buying armor and weapons, etc. It's all right there on the front page.

      I know you need internet access, but that doesn't mean the system you play on can surf the web(playstation and x-box come to mind).
      Way to skip my entire post.

      Again, pretty much ANYONE who isn't homeless and DEFINITELY anyone who can afford to be buying pretty books and video games can afford to have a PC.

        Hmm. I haven't used those links in ages--I remembered them as not so impressive before. They have gotten a lot better, if my memory of the "old days" are true.

        The fame 1 quests for Windurst includes Eco Warriors, but many others do look doable for beginners. I still think something along the lines of a trimmed down Brady's guide focusing on beginners would more inviting and appropriate, but the FFXIclopedia is getting better and better, even for new players

        Edit: One more reason to have a paper guide in addition to FFXIClopedia--

        Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
        yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
        Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
        leaving no trace in the water.
