I bought my keyboard for $5 at Newegg. So far it has lasted about a year and a half. I can't really complain!

But OT: Yay for more bannings. :D

Also as a lil side note to anyone who's been using Process Guard to block the pol scan may have been suspended or banned altogether.

Per Andrew Simms @ POL customer service>>>Process Guard along with other anitvirus programs can detect this scan as having malicious intent. Blocking it may have caused a flag to be put on your account as using a 3rd party tools>>>

After verifying account info and registration info of antivirus program your account will be unlocked wthin the hour. Usually the registration info or program Ids are held in the Help tab when in the program.

He did also say that if the scan was blocked completly the game shouldn't have ran at all. To prevent the scan from viewing anything on your computer other than POL services just have process guard or norton to just conduct the scan in a specific program folder with all POL/FFXI contents. This will also cut down on any lag you experience when the scan would go over your entire computer. A good alternative instead of just blocking it completly.

This just sounds weird.

Did you talk to this "POL customer service" person yourself? The last paragraph sounds like some mangled advice to keep antivirus software from hogging CPU/hard disk, while the second paragraph was ostensibly about POL.EXE's reported scanning.

Malevolent, if you talked to the service representative in question, how well do you understand computers? If you're not the original source of the info, can you post a link to it?

As it stands, your post seems more misinformation than information.

Woohoo. I was panicking this weekend over some obvious craft-bots flooding a few markets on Phoenix and was hoping we'd get another update on their banning efforts. Here's hoping they got a few of them.

Well, have people been banned for only doing processguard?
Are they the same people that are being banned for 'only' using windower?

All I gotta say is the people that claim to only use stuff....meh, they lie a lot.

I myself have used windower for about 2 years, and processguard once the scanning thing was brought to my attention, and amazingly, I am still here.

The optimus keyboard is the stupidest piece of vapor ware i've ever seen. while it's a good idea in theory, the horrible cost makes it highly impractical. You know what would've been a better idea? Make a touchscreen minicomputer with drivers to translate it into keyboard instructions in windows. MUCH more customizable, and touchscreens would be about half the 1200$ price I keep seeing the optimus estimated at.

That saitek looks awkward, personally my G15 is almost too large to fit on my desk, that wrist guard looks like it would be hanging off the side. I don't really see the point of multiple colors, i'm very happy with my G15's cool blue glow.

SE gave out G15 keyboards at the Fan Festival 06. What do you think?

This was exactly my point. I saw them being held for the winners, along with some very slickly designed computers and other logitech parts (I remember speakers) of various contests.
