I'd like to fight Faf and Behemot just once >_>;; Joined two HNMLS during my time focusing on end game mobs. Camped and saw behemot popped but never claimed. Faf, never got to claim either. And i really wanted to fight them, just to fight them >_>; lol. Well I'm just gonna leave off saying I ain't hoping for anything cause hopping usually = dissapointment =x

I can see this as being potentially the best idea they came up with yet. For people with limited play schedules (like myself), HNMLS play is mostly non-existant, so a lot of the "best" gear will forever stay out of reach (nevermind having chose the "correct" job to be able to stand in line for the item). This stands to change that, to some degree, at least. Will the HNMLS scene die off completely? Who knows, this may or may not do that, but one thing's for certain: this could very well give control back to the small groups, ripping it away from RMT and dramaHNMLSs. That's a good thing.

Yeah I definatly wouldn't shed a tear if the bulk of the endgame scene was dismantled completely with this new assault area, though i'm certain sky god gear, Dynamis. Limbus and sea gear would remain untouched.

Give us abjurations somewhere else and RMT lose almost their entire hold on sky. They want us to get triggers through them and god gear only benefits a handful of jobs, half of which aren't commonly played.

ToA's trends have been trying to unravel trends of inflation and expensive gear from the beginning, now it looks like they're retrofitting endgame with updates like this. People may complain that this will deflate the economy further or make endgame gear less valuble or special. But let's face it - camping HNMs is a hideously stupid timesink, an HNM drop only says "I wasted more time in this zone than you did."

Endgame's biggest flaw is that its hard to persue it at your own pace and still enjoy the rest of the game. Both game design and player trends make RoZ endgame and ground HNMs a job and not fun challenges you can do with your real in-game friends.

Some will say its "dumbing down" the game, but I'd say in this respect its actually SE wising up.

Honestly I'm all for deflating the economy evenly

Right now there is alot of gear that has dropped in price because of new ToA gear, and alot of the consumables and crafting ingredients are just... cheap as dirt now, no profit in making them when you spend 30+ minutes to farm up a stack that sells for 15k and you're saving up for a piece of equipment that is over 7 million. Or heck, look at dynamis/limbus entry fees, those are static and there has to be a certain economic level that makes it a bit easier to fund those.

This sounds good, 3-6 people + a (hopefully) ton of NMs to fight in uncapped battles? Booya! I'm guessing that it will adjust the difficulty of the fights somehow based on the levels of the people who go in. Either that or the early floors are easy and get harder, similar to how Salvage works so that lvl 60ish people could still go in and progress in it, but maybe not finish all 5 floors.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

More people should level on Rabbits. Whirl Claws be damned. They're a menace that should be dealt with directly.

This looks pretty good. But I don't really know if it'll keep my interest, as I've been drifting away from FFXI slowly over the last week. =\

I'll still shudder having to step inside random dungeons, but the idea of getting to battle NMs for their goodies without competition... that's just awesome. No more camping against RMT for E Bow.. I'd do this Assault every day just for the mere chance of seeing Eastern Shadow.
                    Amen to that sister >.>b

I just hope SE is smart enough to make the tokens EX so RMT can't sell them. At the very least, this expansion is really living up to it's name! ^_ ^

Actually, this is quite interesting, and the kind of thing I like to see, Endgame-worthy content that you DON'T need a bunch of people for.

Also, the Flan that actually looks like Flan is hilarious.

                          The FF kind

They were originally known as Puddings, but Flan is another name for them and is also food. Nonetheless, I've appreciated their addition to ToA and their classic look from FFIV.

                          They're Flantastic.

actually, I meant the flan that looks like:

                              Flan.

                                There's always room for flan.

                                Mmmm.
