  • Accounts Banned(Feb. 21)

We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.

Based on the results of our investigation, over 4000 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while over 1000 accounts were temporarily suspended.
Details of the violations are as follows:

    - Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
    Approx. 750 cases

    - Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
    Approx. 1900 cases

-Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
    Approx. 650 cases

    - Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that have violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline.
    Approx. 1450 cases

    - RMT-related activity
    Approx. 250 cases

The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 50 billion gil from circulation.

In addition to our actions against third-party tools and RMT-related offenses, we have implemented measures to counteract the recent occurrence of automated fishing. Our vigilant GMs, along with programming changes made by the development team, will continue to uphold the policy of fair play within the world of FINAL FANTASY XI.

We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

As someone who makes most of their money fishing - I approve. Though the bannings for it amount to around 30 per server.

Still, less fish bots = happy Kir.

Well, abusive fishbotting(fishbotting has always existed) is a relitively new thing for SE to deal with after they added the new system. I'm sure eventually they'll figure out a pattern caused by using the fishbotting tools and if it continues the fishbot bannings will fly.

That's another 1.5 billion gil gone per server, and about 125 accounts per server. How much gil have they taken out since STFU started? It seems like 50 billion each time almost, so what... 200-300 billion gil has gone *poof*?

I've seen many players complain about deflation, but they prices are simply going back to what they were when I started playing almost 3 years ago.

And it's always good news seeing SE doing something about RMT.

I saw a "pile" of fishbotters piled up at the Qufim HP Point the other week, kinda reminded me about the person who posted a vid of a Banshee taking them all out (maybe thats what happened XD)

I dunno, the more special crafted/farmed items like BCNM drops, NM drops, etc, I don't mind being deflated. It's when crafted items that can only be bought from npcs, unless you want to spend 4 hours farming, are being sold well below the break even point that I complain. But that isn't really deflation at work, it's more idiocy at work.

Truth be told I'm all for deflation, I know a ton of ways to make gil from the npcs, so as more and more prices drop I become relatively richer and it's easier for me to buy more stuff.

If this keeps up I can buy the world! =^.^=

I want the Fjord of Vyuru :D

Still though, I really want to get a Gugnir, which means I'll probably have to finance dynamis runs which is rather intimidating with the current deflation, it's not as easy to make a million gil as it once was, or at least it seems that way.

There will still be bots. I wonder how far back they check for people to make the same repetitive mistakes of using a bot or re-subscribe?

IGE's bank appears to be unphased unless they simply haven't updated since the ban.

I hope "Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action" includes craft-bots.

But I am glad about the fish-bots. I definitely craft more than I fish, but shall shells used to be a decent moneymaker for me. Now it's basically 12k/hour. Hopefully this will help the price just a little bit.

Glad to see their focus is increasing on players hacking while remaining vigilant against RMT. Players who try to exploit the system through hacks are no better than RMTs and equally deserving of a permanent ban
