I'm calling bullshit on this. They won't ban just based on owning/selling a Scorpion Harness for instance just because the V.Claw is targeted by RMT groups.

I can kind of see where they are coming from, but I call BS on it as well. I've read over on Alla that alot of the gil sellers are giving the player the gil and taking like a Rock Salt in exchange so that they can sell that they "bought" the rock salt for 20million >.>

So if you are someone that RMT buy alot of items from I can see them being a bit suspicious of you, but that should be it and I can't see why you'd get a temporary suspension.

I can see the deflation in my server but I cant see any well known RMT getting banned and not even the oh so obvious we are just training more RMT armies got banned.

So if they're known RMT, that means you have proof and have submitted that proof to SE, correct? And did no one really read the full info on these bans? They weren't directly going after RMT on this one, but hacker, dupers, third party tool users and people with potential or proven RMT connections.

RMT isn't just an army of Taru BLMs at Ulli, RMT is not just fish bots, crafters or mass levelling armies either. People forget that there are those that do freelance work for the likes of IGE as a single player and pass gil on them for sale. They could be in your social LS, they could be with you in Dynamis, Sky, Limbus or camping kings. You can't expect me to believe that each and every one of those people muling Gold Beastcoins from Limbus outside Jeuno aren't allifiates of RMT, some of them have to be. And these people so find their way into HNM Shell do to very lax recruitment standards.

And cheating is just as big an issue as RMT, just because money may not change hands doesn't mean its any less of a priority. People holding HNMs, people botclaiming or fleehacking or magically able to run faster without the aid of striders/mazurka/crimson/flee are a problem to. Those people who try to find a way to MPK and steal claim by means not normally possible are also no less at issue here.

Cheating is cheating, no matter the form and all of it should be persued with equal priority. And lets not forget player misconduct, those who harrass their fellow players are no better.

I think this means using POS to get that regean feather in Attohaw Chassam. i know it was a growing trend on fairy.

I don't think that's what they're talking about.

To the best of my knowledge, there was previously some bizarre way to fool the server into giving you randomly strange items like Gold Beds from fishing. I don't know the specifics behind it, and I don't want to know, but I do remember seeing some weird screenshots that showed this trick a while back (a while meaning well over a year ago).

P.S. Before anyone asks, discussion of cheating methods in a general sense is allowed, but discussion about using or asking for such is not allowed on this forum.

I don't have anything to add to this topic, but Malevolent I just wanted to say that I appreciate your tact given the accusation. I was expecting some sort of flammed scuffle to develope, but not being a lesser individual, you maintained a sense of composure. (although the "so I can feed your bs more" is slightly instigative)

yeah i had 6 Earth Ores and 6 Dark Ores and i can't remember how many stacks of Linen Cloths i had. I usualy strip down when i do my AKF Bazzar in either Jeuno or whitegate. When I left my account on 19th i came home from work with a error msg on saying it timed out do to no activity which i found was odd and just logged out. Then that nite well wednesday morning i tried loggin back in and got my suspension error message.

I like that SE is now doing something about the RMT, but I am a little concerned. It used to seem like about once a year or every 6 months they would mention how many accounts got banned, and how many accounts have been banned within the last 6 months? It's been alot although I'm not sure exactly how many have been banned.
I'm curious to know if it's because SE is being more aggresive against gil sellers or if this is just the increase of gil sellers that is causing this.
Still, as long as SE only bans the cheaters and leaves the legit players be I'm happy, I don't want them to be more like Blizzard and with the number of banned accounts growing that is a small concern of mine.

thats the problem with people asking for bannings on this level is that during this time legit players may get hit also. But as they say you cant make eggs without breakin a few. Or somethin like that.

You may not be able to make an omellete without breaking a few eggs, but what happens when it is your egg that is broken, accidentally.

Then you do your best to make sure it doesn't happen. If you're going to take the position that S-E needs to take a harder stance against RMT, then you have to accept that increased vigilance will also produce a larger number of false positives and innocent players punished. Any other stance is hypocritical.

I'm not implying that innocent players shouldn't do their utmost to redress any mistakes that are made. But worrying about players that might get caught in the crossfire when you're asking for tougher enforcement is a level of metaphysical navel-gazing that I wouldn't recommend for anyone.

Yeah desynthing tonnberry coats for linen thread to make for cloths is frickin easy and cheap sometimes. Easy gil....i think maybe thats how RMT got their gil up so fast.

yea, i definitely agree with not worrying about being caught in the cross-fire. you cant make changes w/o taking some big steps first. it sux if you do get caught unintentionally but you know its for the better. if its unintentional, then you should have no problem clearing our name.
