I was kind of disappointed with the options they gave you. For a survey, it was pretty limited as to what responses you could give. Which sucked.

Why should we be limited to 3 options on what we'd like to improve on or add?

I filled out their opinion form too.

I think more people would use it if LS leaders finally had an accurate list of everyone who owned a pearl to their linkshell.

Ugh, anyone else having problems filling out the survey then receiving an error?

I think this could have been better done:
Q4. When did you first start playing FINAL FANTASY XI?
Danged if I can remember; it wasn't a big deal when I started, but it got bigger after I became addicted! Why couldn't they simply have asked for the total hours played to date on the main character? Something a bit easier to check since I've had to reinstall a couple of times over the years.
Q5. What do you primarily use the Linkshell Community for?
I selected 'other' and then found there was no way to explain why none of the other answers fit. My ideal answer would have been "So I'm already registered and can see when people actually start using this board, just waiting till then"
If you answered “yes” to Question 8, Which of the following managerial functions do you use most?
There was no option for "none of the above". I haven't seen many communities that are so wildly active that people are removing registered members, changing blacklist settings or disbanding communities on a regular basis. I think there may have been some wishful thinking in there!
Q9. How satisfied are you with the Linkshell Community’s features?
The safety of the PlayOnline ID login feature
My biggest gripe with this whole setup is that I hate using my POL login and password for anything other than POL! I use firefox, and consistently get the message that "the information is about to be sent over an insecure connection". That scares me! Call me paranoid, but I'm changing my password weekly now! Once registered with the site, there should be the ability to create a new login and password and the POL login and password could be used to recover them if lost.

For the next two questions ...
Q10. Of the current Linkshell Community features, please select up to three that you would like to see improved.
            and
Q11. Please select up to three features you would like to see added to the Linkshell Community in the future.
I agree with Murphie - only 3 possible answers is kind of sad. It would have been better to rate them in order of importance. Especially as far as the last question is concerned. Seriously, it would take 5 minutes to run together a javascript that renumbers all the options when you change one so each has a different number, and the results would be a lot more meaningful!

It would also have been nice to have had a freehand section, say limited to 300 characters, where we could add other suggestions or features.

            Just my 2gil worth!

Good points. I mean, maybe this is just me being grumpy, but this survey seems awfully fixed to me. By limiting the number and type of responses without offering any room for specific commentary ensures that the results will only tell you what you want to hear.

Maybe that's exactly what they want, if they already have the general idea of how it's gonna be then this survey is only meant to help them polish the concept, not to make big changes to it.

Except it's not about what they want. It's supposed to be about what we want.

Them having a solid idea of what they want and not even providing options for us to offer ways to change it isn't a good thing.
