Just some things i've been told:
Chocobo takes 4 days to hatch.
Warmer eggs give a better chance at a boy, colder eggs give a better chance at a girl.
I can't confirm any of this but it's what the people around the windurst chocobo stable's watercooler are saying
Is there a particular forum for the chocobo info? Or is it posted here?

My egg hatched took three RL days. My chick is male I named him Outlaw Prince. The trainer says that he likes all kinds of wether but has lowe stats in everythig else.

My choco, Angel Dandy, hatched in 4 RL days. She is female and likes all types of weather. I think that they all start out with a poor rating in everything, they are babies. ^.^
I took her out for a walk too many times so I had her rest for a day to get her energy back. I'm now waiting for her to wake up so I can feed her. She should wake up tonight. I have some vegetable paste waiting for her. I need to start growing the other grasses, carrots, and worms so I can start making other pastes for her.
My GF's two year old just loves her. She says "Aww, cute!" I can't wait until she is a young chocobo, so I can see what the other care options are.

Started with the warmest egg here, hatch on day 4. Female with high affection stats, low everything else. No prefrence in weather and very friendly. Named her Crystal Breeze ^.^ sooo cute :3Comment

Notes: On the 4th day (after hatching) I took NightBreeze for a short walk three times. He was sick and starving the 5th day (yeah, yeah, call the Humane Society >.< ). I fed him some herb paste and T-something wildgrass until he was quite full to help cure his illness, then switched Care Plan 0 for one day of rest. 6th day and he's sleeping comfortably, not hungry yet not full. Hatched on day 4, male from warm egg, named HEART 1. So far only feed 2 bunches of greens per day and walk once each day. On second walk, met choco boss and she was walking a baby , SPRING- Windhurst. Just realized chick has
status bar so I'll watch that and keep from going too low, especially in the beginning. Vegetable paste is cheap to make and at cook 93, the HQ's really help.
All status items are low but I'm planning to start some Vomp and Zegham carrots soon to see what that does to stats. n the meantime, lizard eggs are suddenly a ggod thing to farm since the demand is sky high- they are used in all paste recipes. Ok, well today (Day 7) A couple things i've noticed
I have been taking my chocobo for a walk once a day, and watching over it 5 times each day.
The chocobo now wants to be with me always (or something like that)
When i sit there and look at it, (and watch over it) it's head just bobs back and forth (sooooo cute....).
For some reason my chocobo has been making a fuss at night and Hamelton (or w/e the guys name in sand'oria's name is) gave me the key item the white hankercheif to help with this (though i don't know what to do with it).
Also when i took my chocobo out today, i got the story of an impatient chocobo (key item).
I keep my chocobo feed each day with gyshal greens.
The thing about it being fussy at night makes me sooooo sad
Other than that my chocobo hasn't had any problems (like i've been hearing about chocobos getting sick).
I will live, and die by the SwordComment

I would like to see some serious rewards for putting time into this thing. Winning a race should not only give items, they should give good items and/or cash prizes, with sums making it even very profitable, not unlike gardening. Of course there would be an even greater influx of gil into the economy, which could potentially mess it up even more... but that I think is another issue. Besides, if that really is a problem items is the solution, and there you could have rare/ex items. I mean, racing and breeding is fun and all, but having incentives such as good rare/ex items makes it even more exciting.Comment

I also got the Boss's chick to become friends with my chick. His chick's name is Blood. I have been feeding my choco vegetable paste. The rumor is that the vegetable paste is good for affection. It seems that that is correct, because my chick now considers me it's parent. Which, I guess, is good.
I've got to plant some wildgrass seeds. I've only fed her vegetable paste so far because it's the only one that doesn't require the new items, only available through gardening. I'm not paying the crazy AH prices.
Has anyone been able to get any of the chick's stats above poor? I've taken her out for so many walks, but no change in her stats. The only stat I've been able to change is affection.Haggai

The affection change to " consider as parent" is a result of white hanky, not food. I've been feeding greens and got the "parent" affection level. I think the only food that improves stats is vomp and zegham carrots which are from gardening.Beast 69 Blue 42 War 36 Pld 35 Red 35

Haven't been able to change stats ethier. As for choco food I've planted grass all over my house the kind my chick seems to like the best.
Just thought about this but its kinda funny my chick realy liks GRASS.
Look out for the stoned chocobo!!!
