Hey. I like where this is going.
Eh... if it's a level 75 merit point ability, who cares? You're already level 75, and level 75 melees can generally take care of themselves when they get aggro.

If I remember right, Enrage supposedly is 3 min recast. And pld/nin is already the trend in all my pld xp pts.

PLD/WHM in my PT's is the in thing ^^, I hope PLD gets more and WORTHWHILE Defensive abilities that help lower damage better than what they currently have.
For the god of tanks they squish pretty easy in some fights.
I won't say anything about PLD at HNM since I stay away from HNMLS'es like the plague. But in Some BCNM more abilities would be great.

Im so happy about SMN changes WEE!!!!
I still wanna be able to keep Avatars out longer, and their abilities worthwhile.

I have a feeling they'll move PLD more towards the Ethereal earring route (% of dmg taken converted to mp)... and just have Relic body stack with it ... somehow. Ehh, we'll see.

more damage is not what BLM need.
What do they need? Anti-Resistance? Guess what AM does!! And, yes, more damage the better.

Funny you say this because Dragoon gains just as much from Ethereal Earring as a PLD does.

You seem to forget RDM's job is to debuff and they also do not learn Bio ever.

                          Re: Merit Adjustments

I'ma agree with Feba on nin. They'll prolly get San of their wheel and that's it. Which, honestly, seems like it'd be pretty cool anyway. Who knows, maybe they'll get some kick-ass evasion boosty thing... but I'd doubt it.

                          Re: DRG
I know about ethereal earring and dragoon and I love it. It's incredible... for DRG solo. It's actually plausible for a PLD to use in exp though. At any rate, I was mostly just joking about how we were hoping the new jobs -- especially corsair -- would create a party dynamic that was conducive to the less liked jobs and then they tossed out drachen's roll with Pet magic accuracy up (or is it pet magic attack up? still pretty lame for standard party layouts). Please remember that it was a joke, and that I wish more for DRG than I do for WAR, despite my being a WAR.

-RDM do learn Bio. I think they learn Bio 2 but I'm not gonna look it up.

-BLM don't need more damage. There's a valley between Black Mage and all the rest of the jobs. All the Blms say "we need more BLMs so we can one-shot everything" and thus, manaburn exp is born. Everyone else says "Blms need to rest and we focus on sustained damage so get a Monk" and thus, meleeburn exp is born.

I don't know about you, but I think Skillchains and Magic Bursts are fun. I think when Balfree says he wants to fully merit conserve MP, that he can agree with me here. He wants staying power or... something.
Enmity is another killer. Let's ignore exp parties 70+ for a second. Of all the DD jobs I've leveled to the 37ish range, only SAM got outparsed by a BLM. And that was barely. Why? not because the blms sucked. Because the BLM would die if they tried to keep up with me. Granted, 37 is where the tanks become good and BLMs get better, but I think it speaks volumes that a monk can do just as much dmg as a blm with much lower hate, which is an odd statement to make when MNKs get so much hate...

I'm talking about the patch coming up, in which it's possible to run into resistance. Conserve MP is nice, but more damage means easier soloing, means HNM going faster, and means you can maybe trade some of the +damage armor for some that +conserve mp armor in situations that call for it.

                            Double Post Edited:
And I'm mistaken about Bio, they do learn it. However, I'd like to point out Bio is a BLM spell first and if anyone would get it, it would likely be BLM or DRK.

And the reason you outparsed BLM at level 37 is because BLM is a laughable at 37 compared to its later self. By level 75, your nukes do 10 to 40% damage off the monsters life and enmity isn't an issue, because its most likely dead.

                              Re: Merit Adjustments

I would find it rather amusing if DRG were able to invest merit points toward gaining auto-refresh and auto-regen. Looking at the sample SMN screen, I think it's a given DRG will likely be able to boost the wyvern's HP. I'm also expecting a new jump ability.

With the addition of NM's fluctuating in magic resistance, I fully expect Teir II enfeebles for RDM & the San elemental wheel for NIN.

This is possibly where SAM will learn to share TP with party members.

                              These are my quasi-predections.
