Chocobo Raising and Storyline Release Clarification

There has been some confusion regarding the release of Chocobo raising and the continuation of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline.

Chocobo raising and the continuation of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline have been delayed slightly, and are scheduled to be implemented shortly after the July 24 version update.

More details will be announced when they become available. We apologize for any confusion.

I have bad feeling SE is setting us up for a big one like last July. I won't be surprised if I see a future maintenance for 6+ hours being scheduled, I just hope and pray I'm scheduled to work that day. Last July when we had 2 days of long maintenances, I was at home and it drove me so crazy that I did a spring cleaning of my bedroom.

I dunno, they have been pretty good since the middle of last year or so. And the TAoU release was almost perfect. I'm leaning more towards "will go off without a hitch" than "the servers are all going to implode!"

              But we'll see.

The big problem in the ToAU release was the xbox360 crowd getting left around for 3 hours. I swear the game was trying to connect to the hydra server, made me wish i got the expansion on another system. But this is off topic.

I am glad they are taking more time to work on the missions and chocobo systems. I still have things to do with the rest of the update(AF for example) so i don't want to rush to get a chocobo and miss some time i could be playing with my Blu veil mask turban of doom.

to people who are mad. relax. All they are trying to do is prevent what happens with majority of their updates, 1 person finds a glitch and starts spreading news of it, soon everyonoe who plays is sending GM calls asking for a 'fix'

i give props to SE for just saying 'hey, we messed something up and it isnt ready for you guys' instead of letting us play with a broken new toy.

as for now or 3 months from now, its all the same. plus hype grew as it came closer. imagine another 3 months of hype. most of you will probably just explode, which im ok with :-P jk.

but really another 3 month wait wont matter to me. but it seems like maybe a month or less and we should be seeing it.

Please let them take their time.

From someone who has been playing for over 2 years, everytime something is "broken" they fix it and break something else. Then you have the downtime for the thing that was broken and then the downtime for the thing they broke while fixing the broken thing. It still won't be perfect when they release it but I would prefer that there are fewer double whammies when it does come out. And as far as the Cocobo Raising, we've survived without it for several years, a month more without it won't be a disaster.

Very untrue. You're confusing terms here.

They rarely break if ever, something they "fix"-ed. They unbalance something trying to balance an orginal idea.

The term here is overcompensate. It is purely subjective and very human to overcompensate, because there is no "right".

I.E. You didn't break my asbestos building to make it more dangerous. It did what it did(resistant to fires). It just has other problems at the time no one knew about.

Besides which, it's a well known term called "Feature creep" and happens to all programs. And I do mean every program.

FFxi is actually fairly decent in keeping the system clean.(where the orginal is a POS is another matter). They patch real bugs quickly, while slowly think and test subjective issues like "balance" and "feature".

What's fair to you is almost always unfair to other(unless you're a masochist). It's just the way our greedly minds work.

I'll say this about FFXI fans, they're loyal. I'm sure someone could find an excuse for them coming into your house and slapping you across the face.

                          Better then a burning building.

Someone who hasn't really seen Troubleshoot support. I would like to slap a good amount the other way.

The horrors of a real messuped MMO is Armageddon if you consider ffxi a slap.

Change FFXI fans to MMORPG fans, and you're probably right. I've seen the same behavior from EQ/EQ2 players, WoW Players, DAoC Players, etc.

Okay, I see "Blah, blah, blah. Yada, yada, yada." It's why the techies don't work the customer service lines.

End-users don't want to hear a million, tech-laden explanations. "Just make the damn thing work without messing up my other stuff."

The point of my post was not to try and technically explain the issues. It was simply to say to allow them more time to fix they issues they know about because on top of those there will be issues they don't know about but the players will find once it is released.

BTW - Do you work for Microsoft?
