    Re: Chocobo Digging and Gardening(07/03/2006)

now that would be neat... anyways about the rmt, do we know if we can sell the choco to other players yet? because that or selling your account would be the only reasons i would see for them to even bother with it...
it wasn't me... no wait... it was.

Depending on how eggs are acquired, RMT may take notice. If there is any chance that they can monopolize the supply of something, they'll be on it in a second.

not the supply of eggs but the raising of them.

If there are no monetary benefits to raising them, it's unlikely. But if controlling the supply of eggs is something they can make gil from you can count on them being a part of it, unfortunately.

pardon my newbness, but am I the only one that finds it odd, and slightly distrubing that we ride around on the backs of huge chickens and get them to dig up other peoples garbage?

It's not other people's garbage, it's just random garbage in an area!

And it's really not anymore odd than riding around on giant dog things...whadda ya call 'em, horsies?

are you ready for this, I think that chocobos are going to be realy hard to raise and that the bigest impact they will have on the game after raising i introduced is long trips (traveling from place to place) will be more colourful.
I guess it will be a good thing, I would like to see a snot coloured bird with a seat harness
                  too bad no purple ones

I hope that in order to get eggs, you either complete a really simple quest or can buy them directly off an NPC. I'll start a riot if in order to get eggs, you have to kill some stupidly overcamped NM that will be instantly overrun by a dozen CGFs.

I doubt it, but how in the world could a Galka or large Elvaan breed and ride a Green Jennet? Chocobos have always been sized to fit our PCs. If a Taru raises a giant, black Destrier, when he calls him for a ride (if the animation looks anything like renting a choco at a crag) he would have to shoot up 7 feet into the air just for the bird to appear.

                        So many questions.
I think Jennet are smaller because tarus use their magic on them, to make riding them more comfortable, i think i read this somewhere, dont make me look tho :-P

So technically a Jennet could be any size...

they eluded to you haveing to kill mobs for the eggs... and i would assume that you would have to kill different types for the different egg colors... maybe all of the beastmen have a chance to drop an egg.... now that would be kewl

I still know that I'm not going to get in on the Chocobo Breeding market right away. For a couple of reasons.

                              1.) Lines.
2.) High initial cost as everyone and their brother gets in on it.
3.) This way everyone else can do the research for me.

I love the fad of everything new being expensive. I'll gladly wait a few months and get things for 1/10th the price, thank you. Or get things now, sell them, and rebuy them a few months later. >_>a
