    Re: The 6th Vana'diel Census

That is pretty nifty how they break all that down. Having only had the game for a few months, it was neat to see what the population, and most common race/job's and everything are.

They are aware of their being characters called "mules". They try to identify them as best they can to factor them out of that lv. 1 job count. Lv. 1 may not be 100% accurate but with their efforts I would feel comfortable to say it's at least maybe 85%-95% accurate.

Aside from that no matter what level you go none of them are 100% accurate, some people have leveled their mules as far up as the 50s from what I've seen and wouldn't be surprised if some mules were in the 75s.

Intresting to see that the players choose the Small version for Tarutaru a majority of the time, like they weren't small enough they had to go SMALLER!!!!

Am surprised that Elvaan Medium size has beat out the Large option now.

They even mentioned that 'storage characters' may skew the results.

You know, I never saw a difference in the size when I created my character so I left it at the default medium. I would have gone with the small if I could have seen it was different.

All of my taru mules (including one I'm planning to level BLM/WHM on exclusively) are small size. Large taru creep me out.

I'm a small M Elvaan. I wish I'd gone medium, because I feel like a freak standing next to other Elvaan.

Yeah, there is a difference it's very slight but there is a difference. You can see is clearer when you line up Tarutarus. The scaling difference is like 5% going by how VRS measures.

Yep, ticks me off I'm not as short as I could be. Of course my hair isn't blue in the game like I chose on the character creation screen either.

It would have been nice if when choosing your characters size it showed you next to other models so you could see the difference.

              Should have gone small

Even on Humes size is very noticeable. I have a Female Hume mule, and she's small. The other day at the AH, I thought I was standing next to an Elvaan F, but it was just a Large Hume female! Craziness.

But it would be more fun if you have to work to see that story is what I meant, instead of just breezing through it in 20 hours like you could with Zilart. Hell, if you were to wake up at 5 AM one day, have a party of people who know what they are doing, you could literally finish Zilart in a day and that totally defeats the challenge of having to challenge yourself to battles to drive you to the glory of knowing what plot comes next.

With CoP, even with good people it would probably take around a week straight. It's much more challenging, and as a result of that challenge, there is more glory. The story is greater. Because the challenge creates the glory to drive people through the story.

Sure, if they're all 75. What people seem to overlook about missions is that they aren't all designed for the same level. If you actually start ZMs as soon as you beat SL, you're not going to be doing them in a week, because every couple missions you have to gain a few more levels to be strong enough for the next one.

Unless you're leeching them, that is. But then you can hardly blame SE for how easy they are.
With CoP, even with good people it would probably take around a week straight. It's much more challenging, and as a result of that challenge, there is more glory. The story is greater. Because the challenge creates the glory to drive people through the story.
With CoP it's even more true that the missions are designed for different levels. The length of PMs would seem a lot less onerous if you did the level 30 missions at level 30, then leveled up to 40, did the level 40 missions, etc.

It's the number of people who were already 75 when CoP came out and expected to breeze through it that gave PMs their reputation.

Actually, I think it's not the challenge that makes PMs so annoying - they're not really that hard (up to chapter 5, I haven't seen one yet that was as hard as ZM8 or WM9-2 is for a 70ish PT.) What they mostly are is long - long dungeon crawls through promys, aqueducts, riverne, sacrarium, etc., and lots of running around getting cutscenes and preparing with special items. If you're prepared and have good party members and a good strategy, the actual boss fights are quite manageable. I wouldn't mind helping out with a PM boss fight anytime, but spending several hours farming rare/ex special items and then several more hours going through a level capped dungeon is much more annoying and what makes it so hard to find help for PMs.

To return to the topic... anyone know who has the one and only Guttler and Claustrum?

It's odd that the top three most common relics are all things that are usable by tanks. Are there a lot of linkshells feeding currency to tanks in the hope that a relic weapon would help them hold hate better or something?

Yeah... my problem with CoP is mainly the dungeon crawling. If it weren't for the dungeons and farming of recollections/hippogryph feathers/bomb clusters/etc. they would be ridiculously more manageable. I don't think SE realizes how many hours that takes, and how little time people can have. Only the most hardcore people are able to do things past just getting to Tavnazia in the first place.

I want to do CoP. I really, really do. But I don't have the time, or friends that are equally as interested.

I kind of feel the same way. I mean, I'd like to do all of the CoP missions, but beyond getting basic Tavnazia access, there really isn't much point in my worrying about it until I'm at or near 75, since the best way to do it is in a static, and it helps if you don't have to wait for people to level to 40, or 60 or whatever.

                                One day though.
