The first version update after the release of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion disc is scheduled to take place in mid-July. As announced at the FINAL FANTASY XI Fan Festival 2006, players will finally be able to raise their own chocobos! Adjustments to Besieged, new missions and quests, and a variety of other additions and changes are also on the way! More information will be posted on this site as soon as it is made available, so keep checking back for the latest updates!

Yeah, I went to POL site this morning and I saw that they changed it. I immediately thought, "Wow! Did they release the Linkshell thing already?" Alas, it was just a site redesign.

I've gotta say that it does look pretty sweet, though. I ended up finding stuff I've never seen before. If you haven't, look at the concept art. Especially the Yagudo one. XD

Alla is still on the "premier" site list, and while they are not supporting LS Forums, you can get your LS homepage listed under the community sites.

The site is definitely much improved (interface-wise). Considerably more professional looking as well. Cleaner interface, better hierarchy of elements. Curiously, the site still takes quite a bit of time to load.

A caveat is that some links open a new browser window (Community, ToAU, etc.). This is completely unnecessary, but I imagine they have a legitimate reason.

It's a nice place to visit. I can't wait to see the LS pages implemented. (Personally, I don't feel Alla should be listed in the community portals anymore, let alone as a Premier one.)

Curiously, the site still takes quite a bit of time to load.

Quite a bit of the site (everything but the big middle news sections, "Topics" and "Information") loads via javascript. I've got the noscript plugin running for firefox; if I don't enable javascript for playonline, those are the only sections that show up, and they do so pretty quickly.

If you're using a browser that supports tabs, you can set it so that links open in a new tab instead of having to load a new window each time. Makes them way less irritating.

anyway, update in july.. kinda hoped it to be sooner, but i guess we finally have a set date, im glad ^^
