Geez, I'm getting OT.

I am really thinking the eggs will be Ex., possibly Rare/Ex. I'd just like for them to give a date on this update. Are we talking mid June or June 30th?

Since the DRG Wyvern Egg is Rare/EX, I would expect that the Chocobo Egg will be also.

Darn! Now I probably have to buy a copy of TAU and install it.

In the game .hack there were these weird cow/pig-like creatures called Grunties that would allow you to call them in the Field to ride past all enemies.

You "raised" them by feeding them various foods, of which they would tell you which were their favorite as well as which they detested.

A potential concept that might be seen here for raising Chocobos? Perhaps... it makes sense to me.

1) Are you limited to having one chocobo at a time, is there even a limit to how many you have at once?

2) Does your chocobo live forever? I mean once you have him fully raised, are you able to keep him forever? Cuz I don't think I could handle my chocobo dying

I don't think SE would allow chocobos to fight with you simply because it would make the game less difficult (like SE would want to make the game easier )

But being able to equip gear on your chocobo sounds cool... like spinning rims and fuzzy dice

I have already thought of a show for it... PIMP MY CHOCOBO!!!

Ofcourse they are, they have what, 4 years experience with just ffxi? Not to mention the years of experience they each had when separate with the FF series as a whole and Dragon Quest. Practice makes perfect. They're very good at giving you "just enough" information to make sure you stick around a while longer if you were thinking of leaving.

Too bad we wont see something like Monster Rancher. I wouldn't mind exploring old ruins, or having a snowball fight with my Chocobo. The arena idea sounds like something similar to the colliseum, but I havn't heard anything about raising the enemies you pit against each other.

Why not just have a slightly higher fee coupled with a call device, that way you could call the chocobo stable, and they charge you for delivering your chocobo to you wherever you are.

"Yeah, Id like my chocobo please... where, oh, Im just outside Fei Yin right now... right, yeah... ZOMG HOW MUCH GILSZ!!11?"

People have found the models of Red Blue Green and Black chocobos, I beleive, and about the eggs... Well, my guess is Apakallu's

I want a red one

I wonder if you'll be able to get "armour" or things for it hmmmmmm

would be intresting if it has like the GF's did in FF8 that you can gain a compatability rating for it, would be good if that would happen and the higher capability the more luck at choc digging it will give, and how about foods to feed and fitness like in FF7 could you make chocobos faster? I await in anticipation.

I dont know but this to me "some players may come across an extremely rare variety… " sounds like some eggs will be acquired by some "expensive means" And possibly a new AH category (Misc > Eggs perhaps?)

If there is a new AH category for eggs, or other chocobo raising stuff, I think they will cost alot.

I can see it being Ra/Ex. If SE doesn't want to screw it up, I think the egg itself would be Ra/Ex or at least non-AH-able.

What I'm hopeing is this. 1) That the quest for the egg dose not involve a levle 25 caped fight with an uber dragon. 2) That you'll be abule to keep it in your mog house though most likely you'll have to keep it in the public stables and pay a fee for that. 3) That you will be abule to call it to you and that the number of times you can do this is not limeted per day.

Why not have a capped fight though? (Perhaps Level 50 instead, however.) It would definitely not be against a dragon though, maybe against a "chocobo mom" that you must defeat in order to know where to go to find the egg. (Make the battle required.)

Oh hell, that would be AWESOME! I cannot however believe there's someone else out there that remembers the ol' Monster Rancher stuff. :D

Me? I want a black chocobo. I want a black chocobo with spiked armour. I hope myself SE does make it possible to ride our chocobos outside of any "race". (I thought the chocobo races in FFVII sucked as it is.)
