No, let Chobi stay home alone.

Thank you! Please see me again when you run out of charges on your Chocobo Whistle and I'll be glad to help!

The ticket idea would be nice, like the multi ticket pass, however being able to call your Chocobo in any world map zone area would be much much better.

Hey if I can get a signal pearl to call my Fellow anywhere, why can't I get a Chocobo Whistle to call my Chocobo?
Don't know but reading through yours I had a sort of epiphany that would solve the consern about chocobo's being a free call were ever you for a safe passage. Give the player Chcocobo's a stamina bar, the more you use the chocobo the more that stamina drops. When the bar hits 0 the chocobo abandons you were you are and leaves for home. The only way to recharge that bar is by feeding your chocobo.

That coupled with an item you have to pay for it's uses would cover the gil economics perfectly and leaves it controllable still to the players.

I think with that one you would want to leave normal chocobos in as well for when you arnt near somewhere you can feed your chocobo. Just so your not totally screwed and have to walk miles.

Maby if you had to fork up your rent and stable fees each real day to keep having access to your chocobo it would help the economy rather then brake it.
I honestly don't see it messing up the ECO to much. SE will probably have our "Choco stables 'fee" and employee NPC", like they have our Mog Lockers...Imperial Coins. So yeah if you buy your coins from AH, then ECO will meh... if you go and get your own, then you'll not be effected so much.

There is a mog stables in aht... something, that last I checked we're not allowed in...yet.

I just hope if that's the case, It last longer than my stupid Mog locker.

Yes, that was part of the point. I keeps the stables as still having a purpose and adds a new dynamic to the player chocobos.

Read through explained already how it breaks. Doing chocobo's like the mog locker is a definate no, that one will break the economy.

            Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced

First off — I have been waiting for a personal chocobo since I heard about this game. I would like to have been able to call my chocobo at any time (much like in FF7), but racing it and breeding them seem a good substitute for the present.

I have two main concerns regarding all of this, however:
Egg Acquisition: I worry the eggs will not be Rare/Exclusive. I do not, for one second, feel there is a reason an egg should be sellable unless they are abundantly available. I highly doubt there will be a plethora of eggs available.
I am concerned that to get the egg you need some item that can be camped and sold at, what will be, a ridiculous price. Example: upgrading your automaton at level 10. Wam. Cocoons are not obtainable (easily) by anyone under level 70 (or so I hear from those camping the roaches for them). Option two: obtain 1 of 3 offered by the clothguild in Aht Urghan. Joy! 400k for an item used in a "quest" to upgrade a level 10 robot.
If the eggs are not obtained in a manner akin to completing the NPC Fellowship quest, it might be yet another item benefitting the lazy and greedy. I would like to see them as drops from mobs in battle (as stated by an earlier post). However, I don't believe the quality of your egg should be determined by the level of the monster you fight. That implies the monsters in Vana'diel are somehow able to distinquish a good egg from a bad egg before it hatches. That just doesn't make sense.

Raising Your Chocobo: I have my suspicions that once you get an egg, the raising of your chocobo will require items that will be of limited supply. Despite grass growing all over the world, Chocobo hatchlings will end up only wanting to eat some special, rare plant obtained in harsh circumstances. Or sold 2 at a time by a stable NPC. Thus, even if you find an egg, you will need to shell out 500k a pop to feed it each day. (I exaggerate for emphasis)

I am optimistic, however, and hope SE at least considered the situation they caused regarding the PUP upgrades. To this day, it baffles me how they didn't see that coming. I, too, am curious about who receives a bred chocobo. Is it a random lot like treasure? And once you "hatch" your chocobo to begin the raising process, can you trade/sell your chocobo, or once it hatches, it's yours for eternity? If you take on a new, bred chocobo, does the old one cease to be your chocobo? Does it get sold to the stables? Does it become glue? Will we all be enjoying KFC?

            -t
            Quality over Quantity.

                  How so?

Gysahl are the only ones that we know work with chocobos, and they're NPC-buyable.

they'll probably be gshayi, but maybe they'll introduce new types of 'greens' like in one of the FF games... and different ones affect y our choco differently

or, maybe you feed it vegetables like onions....water/thundermelons etc

no doubt your choco will have a favorite food...

Maybe they will keep the stables for those users who feel that they don't have the time to raise one their own or who like using the Chocobos but can't afford raising one?

Chobi custody court. Brutus is the judge. You both make statements about how you would be a better parent and then he mediates some sort of visitation rights to the other adventurer and his chobi.

I am so looking forward to this update. Would like to be able to ride around on my own, but will just fine with only getting to race them. Probably the update and the part of ToAU I am looking forward to most.

This would take chocobo raising to a whole new level with chobi social workers ckecking you out and taking chobi away and giving it to a more caring family if your not taking care of it.

You know what would be an interesting twist? If they want to implement using your chocobo in other ways, how about in Ballista? Be able to buy or make equips for your chocobo for Ballista events! Have the chocobo assist you in fights! Do skillchains with your chocobo!

Ya I know, I know...I'm dreaming but I do find it intriguing. I might even participate in a match or two if they did something like that just so I could see how it works.
