So basically it's the same as paying for a single use call device, so you get to call your chocobo a single time. Similar to the 'rent a chocobo' fee but the fee being slightly more heavy since a purchase of the device doesn't vary as much. So has to be a fee were the money out is still getting close to or better then it is now.

Though they could also make the items an EX and like the guilds have it's fee rise with demand. Sort of like the guild but I'm sure there would have to be some adjustments it'll need fee for something like that I couldn't see possibly following the same formula the guilds do.

Maby if you had to fork up your rent and stable fees each real day to keep having access to your chocobo it would help the economy rather then brake it.

Having to fork up everyday though would be quite taxing on the game, also it creates that broken Tax idea a formor runner for president tried to create. The problem with it result in the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. A daily fee out of your control is just to extreem.

I like the single-ticket and multi-ticket idea. Or maybe a rechargable item of some sort. The main thing for me, if they want to avoid impacting the economy (and avoid making quick, aggro-free travel too easy) would be to have the personal chocobo system be as similar to the current system as possible. That's why I was mentioning just having us pay at the stables/crags/etc. I don't really like the idea of being able to, for example, outpost warp and then call up a chocobo, to be able to just zip around the world worry-free.

Personally, I don't think the economy is the real reason they're not implementing riding the chocobo you raise. Or at least not the entire reason.

The worry free part they could take care of. Say the player's chocobo are not as immune to attacks for example. Or something as a pentaly for the free calling anywere.

Also added reason that the cost for the item that lets you call it anywere being a signifcant amount higher. I helps source out gil from the economy and player is then paying a heftier price for that safe travel like that.

There are ways to do it which is why "the team is looking at ways to incorporate your Chocobo even deeper into the game in the future." Theyre probably just adding the breeding part while they are still tweaking other options with the chocobos.

Your first step is to get hold of a chocobo egg. Each egg is encoded with its own specific genetic information, and some players may come across an extremely rare variety…

I'm sure this will be yet another aspect of the game where few people are rewarded generously for no effort, and others are rewarded with nothing after months of hard work.

There are lots of ways they could let you ride your chocobo without wrecking the economy or opening up a whole different can of worms. My faith in their ability and willingness to do so diminishes with nearly every patch these days. (Next update: Players will no longer be able to affect which enemies they have claimed in any manner. Claim and enmity will be randomly reassigned throughout entire zones every minute. Any enemies not defeated within five minutes of deciding they've been claimed will disappear, and reappear with enmity and claim on a different player.)

Don't think it'll go to that extreeme. The claim junk they've been doing recently has been to try and fix MPK'ing. Their ideas for it if they did get from alla were kind of half-baked, always a horrible idea to solve the issue by asking players without knowing their reasoning abilities. You end up in a bad situation because their ideas will only be reasonable to them and condition their character encounters, so they end up screwing over another job with it (for example: BST and charming mobs after that new despawn and re-spawn idea).

Hi Omniblast! I see you have 0/7 Charges left on your Chocobo Whistle. If you'd like, I can recharge your Chocobo Whistle for the cost of 500 gil per charge! Would you like to proceed?

                              >Yes, I'd like to take Chobi out for a walk.

No, let Chobi stay home alone.

Thank you! Please see me again when you run out of charges on your Chocobo Whistle and I'll be glad to help!

The ticket idea would be nice, like the multi ticket pass, however being able to call your Chocobo in any world map zone area would be much much better.

Hey if I can get a signal pearl to call my Fellow anywhere, why can't I get a Chocobo Whistle to call my Chocobo?

                                Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced

Well the 'problem' of being able to ride your own chocobo affecting the economy is actually a VERY easy problem to solve.

Simply make the act of summoning/calling your own choco considerately more expensive than getting one from the stables and preferely through the use of NPC purchased one time use consumables.

Though I don't think whistles fit the world of FFXI. I mean if I am in the jungle and my choboco is stabled in Bastok. How does your choco hear it ALL the way in bastok and if its not a 'special' choco how can it cross water to get to you? I have a better idea about it.

A small chocobo breeder (taru-taru) NPC. He loves his job but being so small and the chocobo's being so big he finds moving them around and transporting them to be quite troublesometaru. So taru-taru being a magically inclined race, he decides to do some research and experiments in magicks that would make his job easier. Studing black magic he found the spell of warp quite interesting and is concocting a spell of his own. He just needs to make a magical marker, problem is the last ingredient is only sold far far away and he needs you to go buy it for him since he can't abandon his work at the stables to get some himself.

So you go to this far far away place, find the NPC that sells the item the taru-breeder asked for, and buy it. This item costs around 5-10k. So its nothing cheap. You take it back to the breeder and he does his little synth to make the item for a spell. A satchel of Chocopearls. With the final piece of his spell made he invites you to watch him test it out. Its a success. Placing a chocobo and one stable and the pearl in another, he casts his spell and the chocobo goes poof and is successfully warped. The only problem is the pearl breaks in the process. I minor set back though.

Of course the small taru-breeder has a confession to make. He doesn't exactly have the funds to pay you back, but is willing to make a deal with you. He'll give you a free chocopearl for your trouble and if you need more all you have to do is bring him some more of the special item and he'll synth you a new pearl any time you want.

The pearl itself works like a tactical pearl but you have to wear it for two minutes to before you can activate it. So it prevents the ultimately cheesey tactics such as OMG Tank just died. Everyone on your chocobo or die!

But yeah this way you have to spend 5-10k each time you want to call your chocobo to you on the field. As far as using your chocobo from the stables. Just have your chocobo stabled at your home nation, and if using the stable there its free. If you're trying to use your chocobo from another stable you'll have to use the ones they have there or you'll have the option of using a chocopearl to call your chocobo to that stable.

Eh, be a a great way to take even more money out of circulation.
