I think they just want to uncrowd Al Zahbi a bit. I hear it's worse with the lag than Lower Jeuno. It seems to me like this is directed at getting people who are doing things in the ToAU areas to stay in Al Zahbi, and get those doing stuff outside of ToAU to go back to Jeuno. Spread people out a bit.

doh... I meant to say one of the only. Dynamis and AH taxes probably make the biggest impact.... well that and the Mea choco

          orz. Double orz. Triple orz.

          Quadruple(sp o.O) orz.

It only seems like the reason they did this was to remove people from alzabi, the AH had very low tax, which made people use that AH mainly, with besieged, people camping the AH would clutter up the server and add extra lag during fights, simple solution? Move that AH to whitegate. Stupid lameass solution? make the tax HIGHER than other places, rendering fighting for the AH there completely useless

No they just need to reduce crowding in the new areas. However, I do believe they would prefer Jeuno to remain the center of activities instead of Al Zahbi.

does this mean the Al Zahbi will become a seperate AH since it will have a different tax, and if so, will anyone actually use it?

It had a different (lower) tax while still being connected to the Jeuno AH before the update. I don't see why it wouldn't continue to be connected to the Jeuno AH while having a different (higher) tax after the update.

                  Re: Today's Update - Bazaar/AH Tax Changes

It's not a Jeuno-specific update. What they are trying to combat is people AFKing or bazaaring in Al Zhabi, pushing the zone population up and increasing lag during Besieged events when they aren't contributing to the defense of the city.

Making the AH in Al Zhabi unattractive is an excellent move on their part.

Warp Taru is one of the main reasons to defend Al Zhabi from attack. It's the lifeline that connects Aht Uhrgan to the mainland - without it, the ways to get into and out of ToAU areas become much more restricted (ferry, teleportation, Olduum Ring, etc.).

                        Re: Today's Update - Bazaar/AH Tax Changes

Taxes on the items are a small gil sink. It's there for an purpose though, it forces players to make reasonable prices for items to that server's economy. Yeah, I know I'll hear people say their economy is screwed and what not. Without the tax it would actually be a lot worse because the person who is selling the item isn't incurring a penatly for the price.

There's been more then 1 count were my greed to try an get the highest price an item has sold for getting me back for it. I've tried to sell items of 3 mil value and end up losing 1 million out of it when people don't buy it or it gets undercut by another seller. So it does force you to be resonable and plan out what you sell and when.

As for the mobs focusing more to the task of raiding the object they are after it makes the battle have more realizm to it. One thing i can guarentee is the strategy of sitting back at the gates and guarding it will only be one part of the whole that would be needed to win. You'll need decoys to attack stranglers and keep them busy as well as the forces that will be killing out the mobs.

The ones that go to guard the gate would be the last line of defense. If it gets to many on it then it's likely you'll lose. Sounds almost like having to plan out the strategy to defend a place from a raid like some game scenarios that people made for Starcraft had to do... Just with better AI then what the Starcraft ones did.

I dont understand why its such a bad thing to evenly distribute the population. You know the more ppl grammed into al zhabi, the worse it is for everyone. lag, disconnects, and besieged is most likely unmanageable for those with slower connections or less than great hardware setups, this is a good thing guy, not bad.

SE doesnt want players to go back to Jeuno per se, they just want to make the zones more managable. what good is al zhabi if its crappy for everyone? This isnt about what SE wants players to do, it's just about easing the load on the server(s) that run that zone.

Even with this, al zhabi will still have PLENTY of people in it. I really dont understand what the fuss is about.

Fuss as I can see it is a money machine was slightly sabotoged. You think about it the Al Zhabi AH was feeding items into the Jeuno AH, the life line of selling and buying was going in reverse were Al Zhabi was actually being a lifeline to Jeuno. With the price change and rule change to that zone it's reversed it to were Jeuno is actually the lifeline to Al Zhabi like it should of been.

I (currently) have no interest in most of the content in Al Zahbi. A mog locker would be nice, and I still need to unlock COR and PUP. The rest, even the stuff I'm high enough for, I don't want to take part in yet. But if I weren't hanging around Korroloka the last couple weeks, it probably would have been my home point.

Do you really want me hanging around Al Zahbi taking up room?
