what I'm reading is that whoever has hate automatically claims the mob. even without weapons drawn and using job abilities on the mob.

Curing someone grabs hate and will ping pong the mob claim... At least that's what i'm getting from reading this.. Kinda makes sense if Square wants to prevent low level BLU getting PL'ed higher mob abilities from friends?

And you know with all the new jobs they don't want people getting PL'ed..

no, you are reading it wrong ghost.

they are giving a specific example where the mob is yellow to two players. it is beating on A because A has hate, but the mob is still yellow.

this situation will not happen in PLing.

the mob will (almost) always be purple to B because A has claimed already.

What I wanna know is why you have to participate in the "Return to Vana'diel" campaign to get that miniture airship. What about the players that alway kept their characters....so unfair... T_T

So you saying mob going from claimed by a level 10 to unclaimed to claimed by a level 75 PL back to claimed by a level 10 won't affect exp gained?

if A claims mob, it will stay claimed on A no matter what B does.

Again, this is a very specific case they are illustrating here. This is addressing a very well known MPK tactic where an HNM has claim stolen by linkshell B (because it went yellow for god knows why) but still has hate on linkshell A. A can't attack or do anything against HNM because it is purple to then. HNM then proceeds to wipe the floor with linkshell A while linkshell B cackles evily. thus MPK.

If that change really allowed you to claim a mob that's already claimed by someone else just by generating hate then everyone in an HNMLS should quit the game right now.

Isn't that the current system before the update?

The last pic says B will have claim after causing enough hate: ie a cureIV etc from a PL

Even if the PL doesn't have weps drawn he will have claim, and the lower level cannot get hate back if he cannot attack.
