They made mention of how Paladin has been taking a distinct second seat to Ninja lately. They definitely want this to be changed, so they are on more even footing. Some possibile new abilities are Auto-Refresh, enhancing uses for shields, and gaining TP when the Paladin makes a succesful Shield Block.

Oh damn, I'll have to polish my shield. Auto refresh sounds interesting, as does enhanced Shield uses. New hate tools are always good.

Some things to consider:

#1 - Soloing on RDM - Avesta rocks but really like the other posters said, it takes HOURS literally. I went back and watched his Ash Dragon video, it took him close to 20 minutes to make a 'dent' in Ash dragon hp. I for one do not plan on spending 4-5hrs continously battling 1 mob, I mean what happened to potty breaks and such??!! But I think SE understands this. It isnt like all of a sudden every RDM is suddenly soloing every single HNM and god in the game. Novelty and doing it for the sake of 'I did it!" is completely different from "I'm repeating this process everyday coz it makes the game so easy and I'm earning ten trillion gil from it"

#2 - Overpowered jobs - Honestly I dont see how anything is overpowered in this game unless people start complaining that it is. Theres certain 'roles' that certain jobs play. Some players who just have great skills can take any job and make it amazing. So if that job was meant to output damage, then an amazing player can churn out amazing damage. If people complain, maybe we should start saying "really talented game players arent allowed on any games since they have advantage".

With this so called RNG nerf, I still know RNGs who pump out the 'same' amount of damage as before, they just adjusted to the changes and rules, but they had their whining periods too then they just adapted. Before the patch, I partied with RNGs a lot because they're typically the wanted job (they still are), but 70% of the time these RNGs were just plain old suckyyy

Hypothetically, if a whm can spam heals continously for a half hour without completely running out of MP, for PLD tank on a sky god, does that make WHM overpowered?

Manaburn parties wont be able to do much without supporting jobs like rdm or brds. Even Avesta gets support from buddies. If you listen closely to his clips or watch (in the ZM17 battle for example), you will see/hear supporting figures/friends who tag along, clear potential agros, moral support lol give a raise if he needs it. I'm sure he practices a lot for this.

Nobody is ever completely so overpowered that they can do everything by themself in this game. Like those huge BLM armies, they're amazingly powerful because they are a BLM 'army'. BLMs are powerful with the support of other jobs or other BLMs. One BLM cannot possibly change the course of Vanadiel history (cept maybe Ajido but he's a taru and he rocks )

So the changes they are 'thinking' of implementing will make sense one way or another. Regardless of what they put in as many others have said before me, there will always be unhappy people. It is the nature of humans to be dissatisfied with one thing or another.

#3 - PLD Refresh - very very interesting! I love playing PLD and have often often complained that even as a taru I need more mp. Regardless of ability to conserve mp, having some type of refresh gives PLD more options on how to play this job. As a taru, with lots of mp on PLD, I find creative ways to utilize my mp and will appreciate any auto refresh abilities they hand to us ^^

I am glad they are not making bahamut and Avatar... it would be a shame to see one of his minions defeat him... as for blue mage... i am ALMOST sure that the footage I saw he was casting the SAME way black mages do... with the same animation and the same motions.

Blm casts magic a different way
Smn casts maic a different way also... imo the best

You guys are saying that blue DOES have new animations and motions on blue magic casting? If so, can you please show me some videos or screen shots please!

Concerning alexander. if what ur talking about is the thing wit tanish armor with a big axe and is like 2.5 characterlengths tall and is right after the black screen that says a new path to adventure(there is no time refrence on my player so i couldnt pause it at 1:16) then i belive that is just another monster that they havent told us about not an avattar. Maybe 3 seconds before the screen that says a new path to adventure there is a vid of an area with a ramp and mobs in the area. Kinda to the top middle left side of the screen u can see that mob walkin around. assuming that is wat ur talking about but there is no other big mob with broad shoulders casting something like diaga in the video less i missed something

nvm this was adressed earlier in the forum and i didnt c it. but other than odin i cant see any other avatars coming in. cerberus seems kinda cliche to me and bahumat would have to be nerfed to the extreme unless they wanted to make smn extremely powerful. maybe some of the ffx summons might come in like yojimbo or ixion, or they could dig deep and pull something out like starlet from ff6 to fill in the whm summon.

Or maybe even Atomos, how sweet would that be if a giant mouth followed u around and sucked up nething in its path

The person who soloed Genbu didn't really do it alone... unless he soloed Olla Pequena, Media, Grande (there are repops right in the room and they have magic immunity WS, so at the very least, not using similar methods) and Zipacna (again, no safe kiting area) too. Guivre is a bit different, but hasn't he already been soloed by BST before? and I've seen a SMN solo Ose. There are a couple of things that can be soloed v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y by some jobs, but that doesn't mean that anyone is going to do it that way as anything other than a tour de force. Otherwise it'd be much quicker to duo or trio the same thing.

actually, i know he solo'd zippy. there is/was a video on his site of him soloing it. not sure if he was rdm at the time, but he did solo it.

I doubt odin will be anything more then what bahamut is for CoP. Or did everyone in that instant remeber that odin is famous for his one hit kills? Even with this as his astral flow you be hearing Nerf him Nerf him. >.< and rdms have soloed ash dragon. The best part about all this we will have it up and running soon.

eh yojimbo seems like a good idea but everyone complains about gil already. He would prolly do really good damage and ppl would ask summoners to use him and the summoner would say no and that would cause strife and more gil debates and all this unessecary whining...u c where im goin with this. and the thing bout anima is he cant be unleashed from all his chains and whatnot or it would be the end of the world as we know it... valefor and ixon tho wouldnt b so bad. or some of the real old school summons.

Maybe Yojimbo could be used as a god send and crack down on gil sellers^^ Ixion is gay no matter how you spin it imho valefor would be a good neutral element. I hope se is planning to change the spirit system.

How can something cool looking like a air spirit be so DAMN USELESS?! WTF!

Or...Maybe they could decide to do away with the gil thing for Yojimbo. They haven't exactly adhered to any set rule for the other summons, so I don't see why not. I think I'd like to see an Imp summon. Good for comic relief if nothing else.

If they did it would be most likely that they did, but I think if there was a way to get rid of gil sellers for good would be to inflate the enconomy so much with gil that the prices would go beyond reason and it would break down.

This could be done by giving the most popular jobs abilities or special moves that require gil ie utsusemi and spells if a move like those were implemented to nearly every job or the most popular people would either quit or stop buying gil and that would lower the economy permanently until noobs start the process again until the breaking point and lowers itself again.

But back to yojimbo, i agree with clown on this one, Se is good at being original its not like they keep the same design look as the new ifrit for ff11 as they did in 10 or the same abilities or even how they function they work for two different systems
