Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

Woot ^^ Its probably going to have alot of bugs and stuff when it first comes out but be refined as time goes on. This is really good and seems a worthy addition to Conflict IMO.

I still would like to see RO castle raids in the sense that you need to defend your Outpost or something like that before the HP of that area is gone and you can make your own little fortress or whatever O_o;...but whatever...this looks awesome, i hope they make more PvP competition(even if its not related to fighting) in the future to keep some spark in the game.

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I'm still pretty low to take part in these events but could still be fun to get killed in them... As long as you're in it and trying, that's what counts! ^w^

      Fishy

      There once was fish,

      Whom made a perfect dish

      To a giant fish.

      The giant fish was caught,

      By a Mithra which sought

      To fill her hunger.

      The Mithra was slayed,

By a monster whom would raid

      The land.

      What have we learned?

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I have to admit, this does look more fun than Ballista to me... but it would be nice if they made one that actually required the jobs to do thier jobs instead of just who is better with /nin... I'm kinda worried that on the surface this looks like yet another reason to /nin to every job... If so, well, I guess I'm out. Who knows though. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll add a feature for "Disallow Sub-Jub" and it will become popular...

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I've been to the Purongoro Island, and it was . . . well, it was very well made, and a nice place to chill. NO ONE was there, but there aint shit to do there. I guess the Devs at SE felt bad that one of the nicer looking areas of the game went unnoticed. When ppl ask what I'm doing in Bibiki Bay as RDM/NIN, not in a pt, and I tell them "Clamming on Purongoro Island", they respond, "[where?}" . . . .

So yeah, another excuse to ruin beach-front property!

Oh I do so wonder how this will work. Will they autobalance based on jobs as in, certain jobs are tanks, certain are melee, certain are support. . . ohhhh!!! I can't wait. And Diorama wasn't bugged when it came out, so I have no worries.

If we don't like something, collectively, if our hatred for it throbs like an abscess beneath every thread, does that mean that they're doing something right?

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I'm really curious about the name. Ballista seemed to have French influences, which related directly to San d'Oria. "Brenner" obviously comes from the German language, but what Vana'delian nation relates to Germany? Bastok seems to borrow a lot from the Middle East, as you can see by a lot of its resident's names. And Windurst...well, I just like to think of Windurst as the Canada of Vana'diel.

I enjoyed the cutscenes from the Ballista quest, Shantotto always cracks me up. I hope we won't miss out on the rich story background we were given with Ballista.

What do you guys think? Where do you think "Brenner" originates from in Vana'diel?

This doesn't take place on the actual island, just a copy of it.

Pre-set teams being possible has me excited.

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I am definatly going to pull Hyrist out of mothballs to try this new form form of Conflict.

What is going to be cool is that the mages wont be as targeted for quick points anymore, as killing them will only stop them form interfearing, instead of giving you a quick 'gate breach'.

This new conflict is definatly more mage-friendly.

Re: Brenner, A New Form of Conflict

I think this form of conflict will require far more teamwork and strategy than ballista. This reminds me of Quake Team Fortress in a way. I think the best teams will be those that setup offense and defense and work together. No longer will a team be able to win without communicating whatsoever (which seems to happen often in ballista).

Man. Brenner rocks. Just got done with playing for a couple hours.

The rounds are fast paced. We had limits of 30 minutes but several rounds were quicker because a team dominated and held the flammes.

                              Anyway, great addition I say.

I agree, even though I was beaten easily with all the lvl 75's, Brenner is such great fun ^^ They better do a Brenner Royal. ;P
