I agree with a lot of that. I really wish that SE would have alternate NPC dialogue depending on where one is in the storyline- sorta how the fame NPCs change what they say to you.

well, that's everyone's "pirate" job people have wanted.

with that spacing, I guess there'll only be 3 jobs with the expansion. nah, that page can still hold 4 ~.^

Mmmmm, I wonder what the new jobs combnations will be.... there are alot of intresting possibilites, to mention a few.

BLU/WHM
BLU/BLM
BLU/RDM
BLU/SMN
BLU/BRD

COR/WAR
COR/NIN
COR/DRG

BLM/BLU
RDM/BLU
BST/BLU ----- most intresting
SMN/BLU ---- ill give it a try just for the fun of it

Since COR is a gambler they could be CHR based, so possible /BRD helpful for support too which is what they're supposed to do. Although, a singling pirate is a scary thought.

btw i guess the customary april BIG update would be skipped in favor of the expansion release

They're still going to need the update to add the new items for ToA so people without the expansion can still use them.

They're still going to need the update to add the new items for ToA so people without the expansion can still use them.

If you're looking CHR based job for a sub, I'd say /BST. It has less drawbacks to skills/abilities than /BRD. It'll let those Corsairs charm a nearby bird and call him "peety".

Since it has an April 18th release date, that mean our major April update will contain the Tau data. So we only have the Feb update and then April, and Tau will be here.

I'm not saying you think this klvino, but since I have seen it as a somewhat common misconception on these forums, I will mention it...ToA is an EXPANSION, not an update. While the items will I think have to be added as Kafeen said so that they can be used even by those without the expansion, (otherwise they wouldn't be able to appear in the AH or be sold in bazaar to anyone who didn't have ToA, that would create a lot of problems.) but the new areas and jobs WILL require the expansion to access. That being the case, I would expect the April update to be a big one.

NPC dialogue isnt static it changes depending on where you are in the Storyline and fame level also.

Fenrir Has at least 3 Endings alone , depending on where you are in windurst missions and quests.

He also has a True Ending.

There was some mention in dev interviews they were still considering if TAU would be required to play the new jobs. This was before my time, but apparently it was possible to play SMN w/o the expansions?

They also said that the April 18th release will also be accompanied by its own update for TAU. I don't think it was clear if that was in additional to the normal april update but I suspect so.

I was unaware of this, however I still find it unlikely the new jobs will be available without the expansion. Or at least not all of them. This would cut profits as many people (particualrly those without a HL character) would most likely put off purchasing the expansion, as the new jobs are probably the biggest selling point. Again though, I could be wrong, it certainly would not be the first, nor the last time.

Yes, SMN was playable without the expansion. However, without the expansion you could not reach certain zones to get all of the avatars.

I tend to agree with you, honestly. But we might see something for BLU similar to SMN... can only get certain things (probably some of the better) if you have the expansion. Then again, they have said that you will not need access to the new high level areas to play BLU and COR.

What they are talking about in reference to that is needing expansion to play I think. Like NIN and SAM both required you to have Rise of Zilart in order to play them, so it can be possible that BLU and COR won't need the expansion to play them but the expansion will have stuff that will make them more entertaining.

It could also mean that the flag quests for the jobs will be in areas accessable without the expansion, however for the quests to be available you could still be required to have it. Of course it could mean that golden monkeys are going to fly out of Bahamut's ass and fling tarutaru-shaped poo at the citizens of Vana'diel. I wish this thing would hurry up and come out already so we wouldn't have to sit here analyzing each others assumptions/theories, and could just play
