Lol, thats exactly what I was thinking.
Though, you have to give it a week or two, that way all the walkthroughs on how to unlock it will be on the internet so everyone and their dog can get it easily.

No problems here, It's great to see people finally giving DRG a chance. I just think it's funny how everybody wants to be one now.

However, I really do feel bad for every job that becomes the new fad. The damn prices on Dragoon equip is going to get a bit higher now.

See, they've found something new to whine about already.

Before: "Everybody hates us, we never get invites, SE made us teh gimps!"

Now: "Everybody loves us so much now, equipment's gonna be so expensive, there's gonna be so many DRG's everywhere!"

Seriously, will anything satisfy you guys?

Re: Changes to the Dragoon Job

i love playing drg, and i understand how many poeple feel, "oh this job is getting better, i (used) to hate it but maybe i start lvling it again."
isn't that what we all did before rng was nerfed? i mean now popele are gonna lvl drg and we will only see drg's as the over populated melee.
i have no problem with this but dragoon was great and a few of you hate it, just becuase something gets better doesn't mean you can try to take back the things you said.

i know rngs that still lvl rng cuaser they love the job, and i still think rng is a job with some sick damage dealing, maybe not as great but some good damage.

know i dont uave any problem with popele that leveled drg and thought oh well i lvl again some time and go off leveling another job but you have to spend a long time with the job, i got mine to 52 and decided to get rdm to 60 and then return, now that rrdm is 60 i gonna come back and this update is just iceing on the cake for me

but if you drg isn't unlocked yet you have never gone thought the pain of sitting there for 3+ hr's waiting for a party with no luck for 2+ weeks

and poeple that lvled drg to 40-50 and gave up they deserve this update cuase back in the day before this update these lvl's sucked if you didn't know anyone to party with or was kind enough to let ya in

and impaction you might be with me on many of these points cuase you gone through the dirt along with others over 50 in drg, so i hope you feel the same way i do
                66rdm/70drg/48thf/42blm/37pld/43drk/43war/28nin/24whm/24smn

                wanna party? sure
                wanna do a bcnm? great
leveling bst in your free time cuase you cant not get party as drg??? priceless

Re: Changes to the Dragoon Job

i've been playing rng lately. the job is still very good. i'm only in qufim atm, but so far the only job that has outdamaged me has been blm. rng is still good, and anyone who says otherwise either hasn't pt'd with one, or else hasn't pt'd with a good one yet.

i'm looking foreward to playing drg after this update. they took the most overpowered job in the game and made it only very good, then they took the most unwanted job in the game and made it... well, we'll see what they made it.

it looks like the jobs are beginning to get very balanced now^^

The idea of making changes to a job ultimately results in less people hating the job. That's the very reason why changes are made. So that you can take back the fact that you said you hated the job and can find a new appreciation for it. The purpose is to make the job more likable and approachable for everyone. You can't shut people out because they said they hated the job before. They have every right to hate or like any job they want for any reason. And any change that changes their mind about hating an unpopular job is a good thing. And their change of heart towards unpopular jobs should be welcomed and encouraged. There is absolutely no reason to change a job if no one cares about the changes and don't pick up the job after the changes are made.

Re: Changes to the Dragoon Job

I think of this update like I did the RNG update... or "nerf" as some call it. People who enjoy the job love this idea because it gives the DRG job something new and exciting. Now everyone wants to unlock DRG just because they think it will become the new RNG. I knew 6 people on Midgardsormr who quit RNG the day they "nerfed" it. To those people, all I can say is.. "If you quit the job because you arent doing the highest damage and you dont want to learn how to play the job when it becomes more complex, then go F*** OFF!" People need to realize that just because you dont do the most damage doesnt mean the job cant be fun anymore.

                        PERFECT EXAMPLE:
Im a 75BLM. I didnt get my elemental staffs until I was Lv65 (including Ice and Dark). I am 75 and I also dont have a Moldavite Earring. I dont care if I ever get Zenith gear and I dont care about merrits. Now does that mean the job isnt fun because I dont do MAX damage... hell no. I love BLM. Ive had people tell me im one of the best BLMs they have played with... not because of damage but because of how I play the job.

I leveled my DRG to 42 in 3 weeks. Some people have told me that is really good... but all I know is I was so dang tired after it lol. I hadnt gotten much sleep. But I love DRG and I will continue it.

Someone mentioned that Blue Mage will be unlocked just because it will be the popular thing to do. Yes, this is of course true. But for people like me, who I have wanted Blue Mage ever since the beginning - this is our time to shine. I for one will be unlocking Blue Mage and taking it up to 75. I loved Blue Mage in every FF game that had it... I for one am really excited.

But all in all... FFXI is about change. Let people get pissed off that RNG got "nerfed" and DRG got pimped. I am really happy with the updates and changes S-E has been making. To all true DRGs out there... Our time of triumph is here! No longer will we sit in Jeuno playing our gameboys or watching TV in hopes of a party in the next week!

Re: Changes to the Dragoon Job

Honestly though, I can't for the life of me see what this "debate" on sheep etc is even about. Many have talked shit about DRG before the update and are now going to lvl it... well you know why?
Because finally DRG is getting what the other jobs have had since the beginning... DRG HAVE had a disadvantage compared to other melee, which is why the devs are finally doing something about it... even they see that there is a problem that needs to be adressed. Whilst some people have chosen to lvl DRG anyway, that is great for them, but MOSTLY those are the players caring more about having fun and feeling "hot" etc when playing, more than caring about how good DD or w/e they actually are. Which might be, to an extent, why they get alot of bashing from other players.
Which side is right or better people for not being sheep or w/e? Noone, they are simply two different ways of enjoying and playing the game.

Therefore, if you are a "I want to be the uber DD" type of person you might now consider DRG, even if you used to bash it like crazy saying it sucked. Nothing wrong with that, because now DRGs are getting closer to what that type of person wants, so more than anything it is consistent with their personality. It is possible that they are "sheep" as well, but that is not the reason for them unlocking DRG. Being a sheep is saying DRG suck, when you haven't even seen one outside Jeuno. It has never been about: "I hate DRG ONLY cause they are so ugly and therefore I would never lvl them" and then after update they all love it and are going to get it to 75. No, it is cause DRG has not fit their playstyle until now.

Please dont generalize >< I am working on taking drg to lvl 75 and have not complained about the task pre patch, nor will I post patch. I do what needs to be done to see my goal met.

I remember when we had a dynamis run, I made a bunch of low level pole arms for some members of the dynamis LS and we went outside and called out bubbling bernie... that was such pwnage by bernie... 10+ dragoons lay dead there & Bubbling Bernie ran amok. I think we all use our 2hr's there too (call wyvern) Ah good old memories.
