Thats the typical vague description SE often gives. It hasnt been discussed on this thread, nor any other that I've heard of or seen. Honestly, its too vague to even begin to imagine what they're talking bout.

Oh, is there any suspicion as to WHEN in December this thing is going to happen? We're nearly to the end of November, and I havent seen a timeframe other than just a general month of when its going to happen.

On the note of pirate again, heh, one could actually think that "pirate" could be what most people call necromancer... so to be honest saying "it doesn't seem fun or interesting" etc your assuming alot of what "pirate" could actually mean. Of course I do the same in saying I would love for a pirate job to be implemented, but still..

Hey, I'm still rather new to FFXI but after noticing its VERY big job resemblance to some of the old FF titles from the SNES, I would have to say they might be adding-in some jobs from somewhere around there which they havn't yet added-in. Like Berzerker, Chemist, Geomancer, or Mime (All from FFV). I for one was actually expecting Bluemage to arrive in a following expansion and it just happened as I've seen so those 4 jobs from FFV might be next. They might not have the same name but I'm sure they will be similar.
Anyone else here made this relation yet?

i never played ffv, but i read somewhere ffxi's jobs were basically modelled after ffv.

Well if you remember FFV Berzerker would actually be analogous Warrior in FFXI. I think you are correct though Chemist, Geomancer and Mime are good possibilities. Other jobs which are in FFV that aren't in FFXI are Mystic Knight(some say RDM abilties already cover it), Time Mage(same as previous with WHM), and Dancer. Dancer's may seem similar to BRDs but they focused more on positive stat buffs for themselves instead of entire party iirc. I'm sure there's countless other jobs that could be pulled from FFT and FFTA though.

I'm guessing a Mime copied other party member's moves? Kind of like the mimic materia? Theoretically it would be the perfectly balanced job, since it can only be as good as those around it. However, in an already great party of 5, it would quickly break it. Mimic refresh, mimic nukes, mimic SATA, mimic berserk, mimic Utsusemi. I would like to see how they would implement that.
Also, if dancers were more concerned with themselves, then how do they benefit the party? They sound like a support job that doesnt support anyone but themselves.

wouldent that be impossible? considering the fact that if it copyed moves from other pt members it wouldent have the gear nessesary for doing the job. as in if it were to copy a war but wouldent have def gear it wouldent be very usefull

May be true for some things, but a lot of abilities are totally unrelated to gear. Some abilties require tools and such, but in FFT you could do the ability regardless of what tools or weapon you carried. Nukes could still be pulled off without blm gear. Wouldn't do as much dmg but I guarantee that you could put some hurt on something. And even if you didn't have a war's def or attack gear, it won't stop their abilties from helping you. Berserk will still increase your attack. Warcry and Agressor will still work the same. Defender might not be as effective without high def gear but that's not really the point. The point is that you could do it and it could still benefit you in some way.

                        Nerd
                        _____

Using Code as his main ability, he is able to confuse his enemies and bring them to a state of hypnosis resulting in major headaches, that's the Nerd's main strenght.

2h: "Go Outside", manages to SURPRISE and SHOCK everyone in the vicinity, enemies are dazed and confused and they cannot tell friend from foe, allies are offuscated by the brightness of his skin, so use the 2h wisely for it has both a good side and a bad side.

                        Japanese Chef
                        _____

They are the only job in FFXI to be able to wield Chop Sticks, they dual wield some of the best Chop Sticks in the whole world, they have proficiency in Sushi Throwing too.

2h, "Food Poisoning", using the deadly poison of the Fubu (bufu? o.O) fish, by hurling the fish to the enemy, it explodes upon touch and poisons the enemy with a full body paralyzis, it stays like that for 2 minutes then fades away.

                        Door Salesman
                        ______

These masters of persuasion will fool an enemy into submission, depending on your CHR, you may be able to force an enemy to kill himself, or buy dishware and carpets, making it a nice job to earn extra gil, and leveling up 1 to 75 in a couple of hours.

2h, "Door Knocking", the Door Salesman will knock on the door and the enemy has no choice but to open it, since he doesnt know who's on the other side... anyways, he then proceeds to whack the enemy in the head with a hefty leather covered suitcase, brand new and shiny, the enemy then keeps the suitcase and the Door Salesman earns 10gil. That's so usefull.

For Example, a Samurai did Tachi: Enpi
Mime would use Mime to do Tachi: Enpi
Boom instant SC without using TP
