I am new to the game, I just got it last friday, and already they have done maintenence twice! I hope things like this don't keep happening, because if they do, my 13$ a month is not worth it, hell, I can't even play half the time at the rate things like this are going!

A two hour extension on Server Matenence? For....replacing parts in a computer?

Hmm.

My theories are this.
1- Server parts were incompatable.
2- Server exploded, managed to salvage game data.
3- They completed it in 5 hours and are chilling back and relaxing for the rest.
4- Someone spilled da beer on Ragnarok's server.
5- Someone fell asleep on the job.

Makes me wonder, makes me wonder... *chews on sushi*

No, last I read they were doing equipment upgrades, depending on the number of servers, this could take days. I don't know if You've ever upgraded business server software/hardware before, but it's a pain in the ass.

Now, if they just have 1 server machine per world (doubtful), there are 32 servers, which would mean 32 machines need to be:

1) powered down
2) old hardware taken out
3) new hardware put in
4) booted back up without login
5) tested to make sure they work

This takes quite a long time.

I would guess that they dont have just one small group of people responsible for doing this to every server. This is a multinational corporation, if they're trying to get away with 4 people responsible for upgrading 30-40 servers minimum, well thats just....sad.

uuugh why did they hve to do this again? casue sumthin broke? noooo it was fine thats like saying... well my tranny works fine but its 100k miles so better rip the whole engine and trans out and rebuild em all ..... rar

Well, I won't be logging in tonight. Its too bad they couldn't have started the maintence earlier, but that would hurt the spoiled jpns.

Anyway... READ VANADIEL TRAGEDY! I even made a new thread, so its less messy!

PS: you know why its takes SE so long to move servers? because they have any illegal citizens in Japan from Mexico. Mexicans could build a house in a day.

Well, about to get off work in 5 minutes, I'll be home in about 20 minutes from now and I'll be logging in. Hoping to be a BCNM and maybe do some CoP runs tonight! So I hope the server's up when I get home!
