        Depending on how good and high lvl npcs are, I see this as a blessing for a number of jobs. Maybe career bards can actually wander out of town without feeling insecure for once! Solo bsts will also have an npc friend to tag along and help with damage.

          Here's a question, is this quest geared towards low level players or high level players. If it's low, I doubt the quest will be too hard. If it's high...well, even the high levels will probably be screwed then =/

                  This does seem intresting I'm curious myself how they are planning it's design. Will it be something like the pets now? Or will they be like the Garrison AIs and such? Perhaps a new system to setup how you want him to respond? Very curious, but for a RNG soloing with his new WHM buddy might be handy if the AI is created right.

                            If SE is smart, then someone there plays Guild Wars.
                            In Guild Wars the Npcs are pretty good actually.
                            They heal you, Raise you and protect you from aggro. Its pretty cool Actually. If SE saw how if you are in your "AI" PT. And you took on efor the team and the NPC fought on, then that would be great.


                            I think they will do it well(crosses fingers).
                            Normal NPCS just dont have good Defense or HP. I think they'll get a nice boost.
                            I definately will take a Summoner as my NPC companion. Nothing like 4 Renkeis from two people and 2 avatars. ^^ /WIN

                              I'm suprised nobody has mentioned the possible affects this will have for the RMTs. Depending on its implementation, they could have that many more 'people' to camp HNMs and MPK us. As if some MPK wars weren't bad enough already....

                                Lets put the facts together... what do we know?

                                ~ The are making EP, DC, and EM monsters worth more exp. HUGE HINT HERE!
                                ~ They are adding the ability to have an NPC to group with. This will undoubtably have a huge influence in game, one way or another.
                                ~ They are expanding the world and adding in new "Features". This could mean tons of new options.
                                ~ They are bundling Ninja and RNG tools... Aswell as making the 'activity' of the RNG more complex.

                                HELLO! Its pretty obvious to me that they have been planning this for some time. They announce small bits and only half the FFXI population put 2'n'2 together. My take on this whole thing... They are going to make Soloing possible for all jobs. NOW, before all the hate mail starts rollin in... Any BST can tell you that Solo'ing can be a pain. As my BST, I can make roughly 2k an hour... if im doing good. So im thinking they are allowing this option, but they will still promote grouping - because in groups you can gain 3k-10k an hour.

                                I know this keeps coming up... but if you really think about it, Guild Wars was a revolution in Online Role Playing Games. With their NPC's AI... anything was possible. The developers even said they watched how players would act in games such as FFXI, EQ, DAoC, etc. and wrote the programming to match the players. We're talking PERFECT AI! So if S-E did this... I will love this game forever more. HOWEVER... lets all take a step back and look at the past Square games... the AI hasnt really been... well.... to say the least, "on target". But they could hit this ball outta the park.

                                As for the quest... I will not be surprised if this has a level restiction. Like the mannaquins, this quest probably will be a pain in the booty. BUT... lets all give praise to the developer who stepped forward and said "Hey.... umm... guys....How about adding something.... NEW!" - because if you look at all the 'updates', nothing has been really 'new'. "New Gear!" = Wow, ok, next!. "New Zones" = Seen it been there done that, next! "New Missions" = Ok, not bad... but its just finishing what they started.

                                So since my brain hurts from thinking and the smoke from the little gears in my head are smoking... I will take a breather and let you guys reply and send me hate mail. K? Awesome!
