Considering how bad so many of the human RDMs I've encountered have been, I don't think a bot RDM can be much worse ;p

/clap YAY for S-E! Finally they have listened to the "modern-bug" and realized that games like Guild Wars (where you can have a full party of just NPCs) work and are fun.

And lets all hope to god that you can customize your partner (job, race, etc)... and lets all hope the AI is decent, otherwise no one will go after it.

I'm not so sure how I feel about this one yet... I will definitely want to do the quest just to do it, but just think people complain about getting parties now I wonder if we will start to hear, "no, I'm sorry, I don't want to join you pt I'm going to go kill EPs with my NPC buddy." Not that I really care but it will definitely be interesting to see how this works out.

hey, the best use for this is if you can seek a party while playing with the npc.. no more waiting forever idleing around?

i guess no matter how dumb the npc might be he can still help you out if just get bored of your ass waiting for a group..

now... let's all join hands and wish really hard for a means to seek while playing with npc ^^

and i want a female hume or a galka to be my partner, so you better allow for race choice square!

i think you might have to quest for a specific race/job partner, like.. do the quest from windurst helping the taru, and youll get a taru, help the mithra and you get a mithra, go to sandy and help the elvaans to get an elf partner, go to bastok to get a hume or galka... then i guess quests would be different for their jobs? or perhaps you can give this partner a job that you unlocked? ... and i wonder about the EQ theyll carry around... prolly just normal stuff, no astrals or emp. hairpins^^

I hope it doesn't eliminate the need for pts on a normal basis.
I prefer partying with people rather than having the ability to solo everywhere.
Also what does this do to bst and drg? Do they gain a second pet? Does this make bst obsolete?

I hope we can choose what sort of NPC we want (Mithra 6b please) as some variety would be most welcome. I'm sure this idea is going to work about as well as auto party, mentor and the Dragoon job did but here's hoping.

LOL poor s-e ; ; i feel sorry for them sometimes. they added that mentor stuff to help us and no one uses it i was mentor for 3 months... i got 1 question once, and the guy was rude lol ; ;

and the DRG joke , LOL poor DRG's no respect ever ; ;

and auto-party.... has ANYONE EVER gotten that to do ANYTHING? i used it for the first 30 mins i played the game, never since

This sounds like a great idea. However, given the processing power required for good ai from the server, I imagine these are going to have very poor ai. About the best we can hope for is something that follows direct commands like bst pets.

do you think these npcs will count as players in bcnms battales, avatar fights, mission bc's etc?

Ill get myself a taru rdm to refresh me all day. or maybe a pld. or another smn.
