Re: The Atma FATE Farm Drinking Game!
I agree with your theory about the RNG seeding. The other thought I had was this:
What if the only factor in all of this is just getting the damn thing to drop at least once, to get the ball rolling so to speak, and then a chance opens up to get the next, and so forth.
Now, there's just way too many variables, and I would really love to parse a reliable data source to see if I can find patterns. For example, if there is a sequential line, like, A-B-C-D-E and if you get a drop at D, then you can get the next drop at E, but not at A, B or C. I know I spent at least a total of 7 hours in both Central Shroud, Western La Noscea and North Shroud on at least 3 different days since Patch 2.2, but before I tried using that Reddit list on Sunday, and didn't see any Atma drop. And then I've gotten 2 drops in the zones where it should drop. As for the timing, it might be coincidental, because I have a small sample size and I am unlikely to do this past a second time (I need to do this for my paladin), so personally, I will have too little data to be of any use to anyone. I would kill for a large, reliable sample, around 100 players on different servers and different time zones, because to me, that would be the minimal sample size needed to piece together a plausible pattern.
