    No you can survive a fall in combat if you are at max HP before you hit the ground. It's usually the attack that sends you flying that causes the death.

    IIRC Titan and Demon Wall have kill effects on the ground to stop the boss from bugging out due to beta issues. It's why Titan sometimes glitches out if someone is jailed as someone goes flying and it focuses on just them on the ground.

      No yoshida himself said ages ago if you take fall damage in combat it can kill you, I've personally had it happen.

        It's still possible to survive the fall damage in combat is what I'm saying. Having double Whispering Dawn ticking on you gives you more than enough HP regen to survive fatal fall damage. It's a bug and happens a lot in T1 but does happen.

          I've tested this numerous times to verify my friend's wife claims that you can die from fall damage in this game. As long as you are in combat (i.e., unable to summon your mount), if you fall from a height that will normally take you below 1hp (1hp is the minimum amount that the game will leave you in order to not kill you as damage is not applied % based, although the actual damage calculation is) you will die. I've tested this during FATE and just about wherever I could find a suitable height to fall from. In Coerthas I died while in combat during a leve quest. I died in Central Shroud from being in combat during FATE with a non-ranged monster. I can go on and on and you can easily replicate this yourself. The monster need not hit you (you can verify from combat logs), but you need to be placed in combat and have aggro. I've not yet tested on cases where you are put in combat due to another party member but not having monster aggro.

          Edit: Also note that only in rare cases where your pet puts you in combat will you not necessarily be on the aggro table. I believe when the Topaz Carbuncle uses that AOE move and you have not yet entered visual range of the monster nor have not done anything (i.e., heal Carby)

            Such a weird mechanic though that falls generally don't kill you, then again, it's a game world.

            You'd think that if you fell from some height and you didn't die, you'd have like a broken leg and you'd be limping around for a while until you heal. lol

              You can die in many other games that allow you to interact with your environment, but from my experience, not very many games allow you to "leave the road". Most of them have invisible walls in place so you're not able to do more than "follow the script".

                Yeah I can't really go back to "normal" games after the MMO experience. I like having an open sandbox and not needing to stick to some strict regimen in my games.

                  This mount is slick ... and would be very obnoxious to place on top of an NPC during important world events. Sounds like it's either a drop or a quest reward from a (G/M)oblin-nesque instance.
