I am still loving this game, but I guess that is because I am still going through content. I am only a 35 GLA, just beat Titan yesterday.

How fat your pipe isn't the most ideal way to determine your playability. How quickly the data is ferried through that pipe is more important. I used to have a 1.5mbps connection a long time ago with a smaller ISP and used to always have 40-45ms times to the data center in Seattle (Blizzard's) and then when I switched ISP to the current one on their previous plan and infrastructure, my latency jumped to around 180ms to the SAME data center. Recently the ISP moved me over to a new infrastructure after I also signed up with their digital TV bundle and saw that same latency drop back down to below 100ms. Again, it's your ISP, it's their infrastructure and their backbone partners. I believe someone once did a line research and reported back that he lived just outside of the city where Blizzard's Long Beach data center was located and noted that the data travelled the equivalent of 1,000 miles even though he only lived 5 miles as the crow flies. He switched ISPs and saw huge improvements.

my average ping is about 20ms, rarely goes over 28 except for those weird "black outs" where my internet just goes all to shit for seemingly no reason and I get 160+ and less than 0.2 mbps it's incredibly aggravating. It doesn't happen every day, but I rage each time it does.

Same here, still loving the game but because Titan HM is such a wall, I mostly just help out FC members with getting geared up. Oh and roleplaying.

I have quite a few pet peeves, but I'll keep the list short....

People who purposefully rip hate off of me as a tank. Oh. So you are fully geared with all myth pieces? Watch your hate threshold, and you won't pull hate. Also, don't yell at me to hold hate when you are purposely doing it.

People who don't attack the targets that I mark. I do attack all targets, and I mark a kill order for a reason. So I don't lose hate, and so that we know what mobs to focus fire on.

People who don't sleep mobs. I've had people yell at me for stupid stuff such as taking too much damage as tank, or loosing threat because the mob scored a few lucky crits in a row. They don't realise that if the mob is asleep, I'm not losing hate, and I can actually build more hate by using flash, locking it on me while it's asleep since it's not hitting me. It also makes it easier for healers.

People who require full DL for WP... What the hell? I have a few myth armor prices, but how do you think people who just hit 50 will get gear of you bail on them because they are in full AF?

Conversely, all that expensive gear is totally useless if you can't hold hate.

I don't advocate or condone poor hate management or poor control, but I'll note some things from the point of view of a Relic +1 BLM that has a lot of experience with the endgame:

BLMs really don't give one fuck about pulling aggro on a single target, especially in WP, CM and Praetorium where non-boss mobs won't get through the Stoneskin/Adloquim before it dies. BLMs also have Manawall (This is fucking awesome for dodging Landslide and Mountain Buster in Titan), Lethargy, Scathe and Blizzard to basically keep a mod with heavy permanently on it so kiting is no issue. Manaward is also ridiculously overpowered too if you know how to use it (HINT: It makes you immune to all magical effects that cause no damage as well as damaging magical attacks).

Sleeping or focus firing a pack with more than 3 mobs is pointless. At 4 or more, it is faster to just burn them down with AoE, especially if there is a BRD or BLM around. That said, Sleep is very useful for speeedrunning WP since Tonberries are sleep immune and can be singled out of the train to grab Oils. You usually grab everything, burn down the Tonberries and have the BLM hit sleep. It can only be done with a well geared and very brave PLD and BLM though. Honestly speedruns should only be attempted in premade groups on voice comms, they need that much coordination.

The people that require full DL for WP are expecting to be carried. ignore them entirely. Nine times out of ten they don't have a FC, or aren't good enough to be invited to simple dungeon runs by their WP. Engage with the community and get into a friendly LS or FC.

At endgame targets often need to go down in a certain order. It helps to know which to kill first. I'm not saying you mark the wrong targets here, just adding that for your own information.

^ does that mean you can manaward vs Primal supers? I haven't quite figured out how best to use that skill yet.

On the hate control, I have no issue with holding hate on most trash mobs. Yes, a few lucky ones get away, and wail in a DD for a moment, but I can pick it up easily and lock it onto me.

I'm talking about the ones that just don't care and do it repeatedly, then proceed to do it with the others, just to make it hard on me.

Then there are the ones that go, and pull the boss, causing us to wipe.

I also know the kill order, it just irks the hell out of me when people blantantly ignore it, and decide to start wailing on a mob I just flashed once, because it's Stoll on CD.

Yes and it has a notable effect. Stacking it with Sacred Ground and/or Cover means that Titan tickles and Garuda and Ifrit barely register a blip.

Manawall and Manaward are best used as "OHSHI- Buttons". Best example is during bomb phases of Titan. You can be trapped between Landslides and Bombs. Popping Manawall means that you can flee through the Landslides. Popping Manaward means that you can stand in the bomb blast and take less damage.

More importantly, why are over-geared players even doing pre-50 dungeons in the first place? Leveling up another class, I can see, but on that main, overgeared class? That's being fully strapped into the short bus at top speed to nowhere.
