And yes, I hate it when people do that shit and then feign ignorance. Some people are just OCD and hit that fucking Need button before even realizing what they've done - I honestly think it's dumb that unlike in FFXI, you can't pass after lotting. I liked that you could do that in XI, just in case you accidentally hit the button or decided at the last moment you'd rather not take it. It's not like it would hurt anyone, so why not include it as an option?

Yeah I had gotten the UAT, which is what I wanted. But I had rolled low so I didn't expect to get it. When I got it I was like "YES!" I think RNGeesus was giving me a break, since I had even lost my Healing Earring in T6 to the other healer. I am usually nice in PUGs but with the way people act. Fuck 'em. I'm needing on all the things if there are no loot rules since people don't back down anyways. But the other healer was an ex-Static member, so I feel some form of happiness for them. Their FC dragged them into a lesser Coil group and we ended up giving her a farewell party by beating LeviEX and King Mog EX with her.

tldr: Fuck pugs.

Also. Gold sellers are getting fucking smarter? When did this happen? I woke up this morning, only to find out I had a friend request. When I get one I usually check my chat log to see if someone messaged me. Some guy named Surefire Jones ended up sending me a tell this morning and then a FR, it was RMT trying to mess with me. I fear they will be able to hold conversation soon.

Even when there are rules, people still go back on 'em.

I ended up really flipping out after one incident, ranted about in on the forums (didn't swear or actually post the player's name though) and SE cited me for some BS or other and I got banned lol :/ (from the forums, not the game). All I was doing was trying to address this exact problem with the community, asking on how to proceed and SE's like "nope, sedition." WTF?!

It's pretty easy to farm Sands and Oil on Balmung now Melody, so I wouldn't worry too much about losing an Oil or Sand in ST (losing a UAT still sucks though >.<). Get an invite to Bounty Hunters as pretty much the entire N Hunting community is in that LS now. You have multiple organised alliances running every day, and the LS has enough influence to keep everyone pretty civil about it now.

The new policy about early pullers for example is letting them die and refusing to raise them. Remember one troll DRG doing it, then bitching at everyone in /shout. I think he got blacklisted by half of the NM Hunting community right there XD

If the NM hunt community is pretty close knit like on Balmung, it's surprisingly effective to report early pullers to the BH officers. It's easy to tell what was an accident and what was someone getting over eager over someone who is deliberately trolling. It's a case of donm't assume malice when stupidity is a perfectly reasonable explanation, at least the first time.

Yeah. The Hunt community on Balmung is really nice. There are a few "entitled" people but I ignore them. After doing hunts I was able to get my sand. I stayed up longer than I should've when I did them. So I ended up missing raid, my leader wasn't mad since he was proud of me progressing my gear.

Circus Tower this week. We downed the first boss and rolled on the item. This conversation happened on Teamspeak:

Me: *Clicks Pass on Monk Belt, doesn't notice the victory music play*
Tank: Hey, Reiko? I thought you wanted Sands or the BLM gear for Roleplay?
Me: Yeah I did, what's up?
Party: *Giggling*
Tank: Check your inventory
Me: *checks* Oh, FFFFFFFFFF-are you kidding me? -_-
SCH: Ow, that sucks...
Me: Okay, who here can invite to BH?
SCH: I think [redated] can invite you later.
Me: You know, I wouldn't have minded if the gear was remotely useful but not even the Monks wanted the damn thing *facepalm while cracking up*

Me:*still facepalming* Oh wow, I can't trade it, NPC it or turn it in for seals.
SCH: Time to level Monk then?
Me: I'll pass. Time for Hunts.

I am jsut going to get the download version, I can't afford that amount for the CE especially with insurance, car service, mot and timing belt needing doing this year, it just doesn;t add up

Oh and they region locked it. So I can't just go get the MUCH cheaper US version from the store. You have to use a copy of the game for the region you play in. Which is fucked over the Aussies and Kiwis because they aren't even part of Europe, but are classed as the EU Region according to Square Enix

So turns out you have to buy the expansion on both platforms to enjoy it on both, contrary to what a friend kept trying to tell me. I knew they'd do this. He's been nagging me to get the PS4 version since my PC is out of commission, and that I'd just be able to resume on PC later through a patch but nope I was right - I"d have to buy the expansion for PC as well.

F that, skipping console version altogether and just gonna save money until I can build my new rig.

Players who were carried through a new fight by better players from their FC, didn't learn a damn thing about the fight or their role in it, and now assume they're leetsauce.

Players who suck but blame the rest of the group. Case: Just about any run of Steps of Faith where half of the group is new to the fight. That one shitty tank who doesn't know what the f**k he's doing but it must be everyone else's fault if the group wipes.

Players who expect an immediate win to a new fight, see that there are over half the players of the group watching the cutscene, and STILL rush into the fight as soon as the gate's lifted without giving advice or instructions, opting instead to assume everyone knows their exact role and each mechanic of the fight, regardless of the fact that this has NEVER been true of any of their past experiences.

Tanks and healers who queue up for a brand-new instance and abandon a fight before the first attempt just because they counted 4 players watching the cutscene.

Players who take the role of least responsibility in a fight to hide their general ineptitude for doing a job that requires even a modicum of skill or responsibility (like Snares), and then bitch and complain when the ones actually doing the job that requires a brain make a mistake.

Players who think that a single wipe means that the party will never be able to achieve a win.

Players who think their time is more valuable than others'.

Players who think that the community of FFXIV is inherently nicer and more helpful than any other MMO, because it's not, it's exactly the same (see aforementioned). While I believe this was definitely true of FFXI because of the deeply-rooted need to work with others to accomplish everything, in FFXIV I see a LOT of players resentful of the fundamental basics of needing to work with others. We can accomplish everything independently in this game, and therefore, when another player interrupts your flow or causes a setback in your plan, there are a lot of players who simply quit or - worse - rage. Running the new fight, which actually is really awesome and really requires all players to perform their best, really shows that there is A LOT of disrespect between players, usually for something as simple as a wipe.

And the biggest pet-peeve of all goes to SE for making a game that so spoon-feeds players that it actually encourages players to think that wipes are unusual or a sign of ineptitude.

I feel for players who are new to the new fight and are trying to get it done right now through the DF. If they don't get lucky and get paired with a group that mostly knows the fight, they're in for a pretty negative experience because lots of players are being douche bags about having to work for a win.
