Well Warrior, Paladin and Bard are all broken as fuck. Summoner used to be but got nerfed into the ground for being the only viable caster class in PvP.

Oh that's right, bard is good because you can move, keep your distance and still attack while moving, right?

Let me rephrase, if you had to PvP for your life, I mean your actual real world life. Which job would you pick and why?

If Solo with strangers: Easily Bard. You will never get near a bard and I've seen them go 1v4 and win the round alone.

If in a group with people I trust: Warrior. They have way too many tools to lock down key targets while the DDs eviscerate them. They can also quite literally have the entire enemy party beating on them if supported properly. They are also the only class in the game that can viably stop a BRD without it being a suicide run (BLM) or burning a lot of cooldowns (MNK)

If 1v1: Paladin since you can stunlock someone from 100-0% without them even breaking through the stoneskin.

I would never touch a caster. You can also sit there an auto attack a caster and they will be completely defenceless to stop you. I've actually taken out another BLM in PvP by simply following them and hitting them with my fucking staff. It was a lot more effective too since as soon as someone spots you casting, they will be on you.

The correct answer is: Don't PvP, it sucks.

Well basically going: WAR, DRG, BRD, SCH means you are guaranteed to win no matter what you end up fighting.

Ran Coil T1-4 and every single drop was double DRG gear. I swear to god the games wants me to level that class. Every single Coil run I see at least 1-2 DRG drops.

The best thing happened to me yesterday as I queued up on my Arcanist. You get that box that comes up indicating that you've got all members for the party, and hit the Commence button. Well, someone then drops out, and it launches again. Now, I was solo queued specifically for Haukke Manor because that was appropriate for my level and would give me the most for my rested exp and for the time spent (meanwhile I was working on FATEs and some quests - believe it or not, leveling my WAR to 50, I left roughly 85% of all quests intact for my other classes ... quite handy now that I can use them)

Well, the tank drops (I know it's the tank, cause you don't get spammed the shit outta that window if it was any other class) ... and joins ... and drops ... and joins ... that fucking window was getting epileptic seizure. Finally, I decided not to hit Commence right away, and sure enough, "Player has withdrawn from Duty Finder", and repeat. This went on for what seems like eternity until the healer finally gave up. Then finally, we get another healer and tank and we're in.

                  Now, two things:

                  (1) Does players have a way of knowing what the group composition will be before everyone hits the Commence button? Does that bit of information gets sent from the server and to our clients?

                  (2) Tanks that do this on purpose aren't pissing me off ... they're wasting their own time. The rest of us will eventually get in if another tank happens to queue up right after him and I can always play the game as well (Waiting for the timer to go down to 1 second before hitting Commence)

                    So that Zodiac quest.

First of all you are forced to farm 12 Atma, one from each zone, with a 2% drop rate. You have to be on a Lv50 and have to have a Zenith Equipped, even though you are level syncing. You are required to get gold in a FATE for an Atma to have a chance at dropping.

You see where I'm going for this.

The next phase also required you to farm up 13,500 Myth Tomes, when Tome drops across the board has been decreased massively. I noted in another thread that it takes 45 hours of playtime per week to cap out on Tomes of Soldiery for the week, something impossible for people who actually have to be employed to keep a roof over their heads.

Nobody knows what the next phase is because it's impossible to farm up the number of Myth Tomes needed to progress in the space of 2 days.

Seriously what the fuck SE? People wanted challenging content to get the best gear, not a purely RNG based grindfest that is WORSE than Relic/Mythic/Empyrian/Magian weapons from FFXI.

Rewarding nolifers and people who got lucky with drops, who will inevitably cock block anyone that doesn't have these weapons from participating in endgame content is not good, fun or challenging game design SE. I feel that this game no longer respects any of my time as a player and with TESO launch on Sunday, and Wildstar coming up and the new SWTOR Expansion in June, I'm seriously considering my subscription again.

We didn't want FFXI 2.0. We want something that is actually fun to play.

It's always difficult when it's first released. They'll tone it down.

Yeah I don't know where they got this from.

Yes, a lot of us XI vets were asking for content that lasts, and to have an actual challenge. Nobody was asking for an RNG-heavy grindfest with absolutely no skill involved, just pure luck. And yet there are retards on the forums praising the devs.

                        I don't even...

                          So ... Don't cap?

I mean, what's the hurry to devour all contents?

So the retarded grindfest doesn't stop there.

Apparently we have confirmation that the new weathered weapons are upgraded from Coil T6~9 drops. So, on top of having to get soldiery tokens you have to deal with the weekly lockouts, RNG, and outlotting 7 other people? This whole patch is nothing but a massive grindfest what the hell. The game went from overly casual to ridiculously "hardcore" overnight this is ridiculous.

                            I blame the JP.

You need the gear to get into the content since the tuning of the content assumes that you have that level of gear.

Not capping on one week means that you are going to be a full week behind in getting a new bit of gear that will let you clear a portion of the content.

                              It's one big vicious circle.

Since I had a couple days off, and nothing to do, I've farmed a total of 19 hours for those damn Atma crystals. I now have 2.

                                Yay.
