They're still stalling, even though people have already been doing coil for a while now. It's kinda sad, and this is exactly why I prefer XI's form of gear progression.

Also with only a chance for the mob to drop the loot, then a chance to get it from others who want it.

Oh, Yea and the arguments that always happened at the end of the loot drops.

As much as I hate to say this.... I liked how wow did their gear progression. Atleast you could run multiple dungeons, and multiple dungeons had one set of gear, rather than one dungeon has one set.

I meant the horizontal (or w/e you want to call it) progression as opposed to vertical and you damn well know that.

You clearly never played FFXI after Abyssea came out. The gear progression was as vertical as you could get, and Seekers constantly released new gear that obsoletes the old one.

Contract with XIV which has new gear as more sidegrades than anything else to tweak stats. They really need to switch to a token exchange system like with WoW or SWTOR though (For Example: glove tokwn drops, you go and exchange it for gloves for your class). I swear if any more Monk gear drops in Coil, our Monk is going to end up a pile of ash from the hordes of casters in the FC.

yes i know they changed it with abyssea, I played until 95.

-__- doesn't change the fact the game worked that way for a good 8~9 years. SE screwed up both games by leaving that model (though as i understand it, the recent patch updated older content like limbus and now you can get AF1+2 that's lv99)

Spirit bonding seems to be alot of people's peeves. I was going to make some HQ accessories for my whm and then overmeld it to the desired stats, but then i thought about spirit bonding and how many runs of WP and AK I'll be doing to acrrue tomes. How many of those runs does it take to typically spirit bond? Do most people spirit bond just accessories and use hi grade armor on those runs? Do most people not spiritbond there? I'd hate to invest alot of money into overmelded accessoreis and then find its best not to use them.

People who are interested in spirit bond usually run CM. I'm never surprised to see somebody in full crafting gear doing nothing but following the group.

Yeah CM's pretty easy, especially once you're at the cannons. Never thought of doing that to SB.


SB itself hardly seems profitable anymore though. I seriously hate the legacy server economies, it says a lot when myself and several others I know on my server have all crafts & gathering at 50 with very good gear and yet we can't make a decent profit to save our lives because the markets are just that awful.


It took less than a day for the new PvP gear to all drop to 1k for HQ... basically selling it at an extreme loss. People have devalued the shit out of everything on Excalibur it's depressing. I'm hoping that housing takes a massive bite out of the excess of gil.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say that I haven't even noticed that Patch 2.1 dropped. Nothing I'm doing has been affected by the patch at all.

Of course that's just because I'm logging out in the field fishing. And log back in to fish. And log back out still fishing. There's something rather therapeutic about mashing the same two buttons over and over and over and over again while keeping an eye out for mooching opportunities. All the while stealthed because I fish in strange and inappropriate places. Like fishing at Isle of Umbra at 35 (and knowing full well that stealth doesn't work there since the monsters are higher level than my stealth can protect) But I'm going off on a tangent here.

You should look into Zoloft. It helps to calm OCD.

Coil... T 1. So tired of getting pug groups that can't get past it.

I have the gear, I have the experience, I just can't get a group to do it. I find people that are geared, and claim they have experience, but it just keeps failing.

They stand behind the snake, the healers don't know how to heal, the OT can't gold hate, people stand behind the snake, people don't know how to feed, and the list goes on.

I would go with my FC, the only problem, only three people are geared at the moment, and are busy doing other content. The rest, I either try to help the, get stuck wit groups that don't know the fight, and don't bother listening to directions, or just end up being asses and leaving when they get hit by an aoe (happens more often than I thought it would.).

I'm getting tired of that damned snake wiping the floor with me. I've even gone in with premises who are missing a tank, and they still happen to wipe, even when the geared and experienced people.

I know where to hold the snake, I know where to pull the split, I know when to pop cds. I don't know what is going wrong here. Hell, I've seen tanks fall that are in full myth, and relic +1 way before I do in there...
