Bahamut's Coil Turn 1 down! And with a newly formed raid group. My FC now has 2 entirely self sufficient raid parties so yeah.

Garuda runs down to under 4 Minutes. We can probably do it faster with a WAR tank and 2 WHMs healing in Cleric Stance (rather than PLD and SCHx2 like the FC just used).

Mining and Botany to 50. Both HQ versions of the AF sets (and subsequent melding) took a while, mostly due to research, and then gathering of mats. The thing I disliked the most (but understood it as necessary) was the timers on the one-time nodes. I can't seem to hit 600GP without overmelding or requiring the super expensive Level IV materia options (which I have no gil for)

So do you like gathering better in ARR? Does it level as fast as crafting? LOL! They are going to eventually nerf the crafting experiene points, because right now it's insane. At level 44, i should not be able to level up after turning in 3 leves.

If you know what you'e doing (and have the right skills) you can power every craft to 50 inside a week like I did.

That isn't possible unless you have mats and gil beforehand. Also you wouldn't have the necessary leve allowances to power to 50 for all crafts (If you do the math, it just won't work) Also, you'd run out of shards well before you hit 30 on all crafts (I should know)

Remember, Mal, you had at least 5,000 of each shards on your Legacy character, and IIRC, there were periods where you didn't log on for days, so you allowed leve allowances to accumulate. Players starting out have zero allowances, just enough shards to hit level 25-30 on each craft (assuming they do all crafting quests at levels 1, 5 and 10 - after that, they are on their own), and also zero gil.

I don't dislike gathering in ARR, but I preferred it in 1.0 due to the interactivity, as it was less mundane. At level 50, however, it gets very interesting with the timers (which I don't really like), but as well as planning (or rationing) out your GP as you try to get within the timers for the nodes scattered throughout Eorzea.

                          You will need this: http://ffxivclock.com/

^ The alarm is really useful, but depending on what you are running in the background, the executable on that site to make things happen could bog down your clock cycles and screw you up in the game. It's not optimized and it's very CPU intensive at times, which I assume to be the programmers fault, so hope they can clear it up.

I wasn't implying starting from scratch, only that you just need a few of the earlier skills and some crystals and you can power through with leves (you shouldn't be wasting leves on combat roles anyway, if you do you're an idiot unless it's that 1 leve in Coerthas for the pudding flesh that costs a bajillion gil).

I don't like gathering @ 50 either. It's pretty much spend an assload of gil to get your GP up to 600 and then camp the rare nodes that spawn at 1/5/9 game time. Not really fun or interesting, and prohibitively expensive to get the most out of it (the returns don't justify the costs)

You only get 42 leves a week (3 every 12 hours), and it can take a few leves per level after 45. You would not be able to level every craft to 50 in a week, but quite possibly ONE craft to 50 every week, assuming you don't throw up after the first week from the mundane grinding in-between (and assuming substantial cache of gil and mats, because you don't earn enough gil to cover the cost of the mats you would end up buying from the markets, especially in Alchemy, as most of the leves require monster-dropped mats, e.g., Blue Landtrap Leaf)

Multi-craft leveling is far superior if you want to both (a) save money (b) be self-sufficient. It also helps to level the gathering side-by-side, preferably gathering higher levels than the respective classes. AND you also need to level DOW/DOM classes, because the leve hubs will need to be unlocked with each camp, or you're stuck with the crappy ones at the leve NPC in the cities (not all crappy, but most are)

The only leves you should pick up at or after level 20 should be the Charity Tarot which represents repeatable turn-ins.

Edit: Forgot that I found it much easier to leave behind Culinary and Fishing if inventory issues are a problem. You'd be surprise at how tight inventory can be if you try to level CUL/FISH alongside everything else. The only thing crappy about this is that you miss out on the level 37 Steady Hand II ability, but just get CUL to 15 (easily done inside of an hour or two) and you're golden for most things up to 1 star recipes. 2 star recipes will REQUIRE Steady Hand II to get HQ (or you just get dog-luck crazy with Excellent Conditions)

Fastest Way to Power from 1-50: Grind to about 20 then spam the crap out of triple turn ins using HQ items you bought from the AH.

Most Efficient Way to Power from 1-50: As above but make the HQ items yourself, buying the mats from the HQ.

Biggest returns per leve: Use the single item turn ins.

Unemployed Method: Grind Botanist, Miner and Fishing to 50 first so you can farm your own Mats and Crystals.
