Re: FFXIV Early Access Issues/Duty Finder Errors

If Legacy Status is that important to you then I suggest you wait, I came up with a plan. I moved over to Ixion and when shit settles down over in NA/EU then I will go back, but for the time being I am liking this server too damn much to leave. Like holy crap, it feels like the first day I played XI. Such a warm welcome, even a few JP's sent an auto translated Hello to me.

Here's my effeminate elf I made on Valefor, doing some fishing:

I'm not sure if I want to give him up and pick back up with Dakkard when they get the servers fixed.

Ha, you only have 2k Gold. You poor bastard. I got 6k. But I don't know how to take a real screenshot on the PS3.

Like I said...join a JP server. I surpassed my old main in 4 hours. No DC's or errors over here.

I hesitate to say this, but ... My friends and I on Adamantoise have been having relatively few problems connecting and staying that way, possibly because it wasn't one of those servers everyone flocked to and has a more reasonably population. Myself, I've only been booted twice, and never had more trouble logging in than an 80 person queue. A couple of my friends have had it a bit worse, but it's been nothing compared to what I've been hearing from the general population.

Excalibur is under lock and key, and I won't touch it with a 20 foot pole, even after release. I plan on moving my characters off of it first chance I get, even if I had to pay $25 per character for that privilege. In the meantime, we had bad luck with Leviathan, but I blame a couple of "Gizmodo"-like retards for getting this, "let's form a huge ass community" to cause the issue. I seriously dislike large communities as they're detrimental to the whole MMO experience. The point of an MMO is to meet new people (or at least play with close friends), not take along your existing crapola 3,000 seat community everywhere with you.

Yeah I'm actually rather mad now, because I thought more of us would be on Excalibur, but it's only like 2 or 3 other folks here...

Meanwhile, some of my real friends are starting up on Gilgamesh next month. Would have loved it if the SOBs had told me of this sooner, like when I was pestering all them to join me -_-'

unfortunately, i think excalibur, leviathan and gilgamesh will be unavailable for new characters for quite many months. I don't know where I'll end up come tomorrow... I'm leaning towards the newer servers Siren, Faerie and Exodus since I'll probably have a chance there.

                      Thanks Yyg!

An Apology to Our Players Using NA/EU Data Centers
On behalf of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Development Team, I would like to extend my deepest apologies to those Early Access participants who have had difficulty using the NA/EU data centers.

In response to a variety of issues, we have conducted emergency maintenance several times over the past few days. The first instance, which was conducted six hours following the beginning of early access, was for the purpose of addressing the errors 90000 and 3000, which were first discovered during phase 4 of the beta test.

Our server team then began taking measures to improve the performance of the lobby and duty finder servers. The subsequent emergency maintenance was necessary to implement their changes.

This maintenance proceeded as planned, and afterwards we verified that the stability of instanced battles and the duty finder was much improved. However, we then discovered that certain lobby servers had been improperly configured, and we were forced to conduct another brief maintenance to resolve this issue.

Although we have successfully addressed a number of serious issues in the past several days, we have nevertheless decided to implement login restrictions for the time being due to the extremely heavy load being placed upon the servers. In this way, we can ensure that the maximum number of players can play the game without risking a sever crash. I know no one wants to wait to log in, but I hope you all understand why we believe this precaution is necessary.

Once again, I would like to sincerely apologize to all our players who have been unable to enjoy Early Access due to the tremendous congestion, the ensuing issues, and the frequent maintenance.

Everyone on the development and operations teams is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our customers, and we will continue to do our utmost to resolve the remaining and any future issues.

My Thoughts: Wut. Do they, like want this game to fail outside of Japan? Maybe I've been pulling late-nighters to play this game when it's actually not crowded so I'm not seeing straight...but is he pretty much saying, "Whelp, sorry for you NA/EU folks but just deal with it. No plans to buy new hardware or anything, good luck!" ?

Re: FFXIV Early Access Issues/Duty Finder Errors

could be a case of wanting to do the right thing vs corporate letting them. SQE doesn't have much room to take another big financial risk if they end up having too many servers vs subscribers in NA/EU. tbh I think they are being overly cautious but...

If I recall correctly, there's only one NA/EU server that's available for the creation of new characters. Lamia, I believe.

Lack of updates is the real issue here. At the very minimum, reliable information on server status would go a long way in soothing a lot of tension over these problems. Typical Japanese "non-response". Remember Fukushima?

Is this true? Where can I find relevant developers posts on the new forum? They no longer have a separate column for dev/gm posts and is frustrating to have to weed through crowned threads to find that one important post. I think the forum mods just bailed seeing how the forums are now a sea of angry hornets. LOL
