The Japanese playerbase is also tiny compared to the NA/EU playerbase that gets entirely lumped together. Ideally they should have split NA and EU further which they didn't.

Basically there are fewer problems with the Japanese servers because the strain on them is a fraction to that the NA/EU servers are.

Statements like that just makes you sound like half a fucking moron.

I was finally able to get my instance up after 2 hours of trying. Got to 15 luckily and now it's smooth sailing once the mait is up. Scholar here I come! Unless someone has another idea about Carbuncle I don't know about.

I have had zero issues all day outside of maintenance, while apparently some people have been shut out almost entirely. I wonder if there's some kind of routing issue.

though by the time of launch, all the servers might be locked for new characters.

Relax, guys, since Early Access was just icing on your pre-orders. Afterall, you got digital bonuses, so just take a chill pill.

BTW, Mal, you must've not played WoW at the time of release, but it was a horrendous month, not just a couple of days. If SE can button it up for release, then they'd have a pretty good launch, maybe not Rift-like, but close enough. Any MMO vet worth his/her salt will earnestly tell you that server congestion is pretty much an issue only with important releases (e.g., main game, content patches, expansions) Once a week or so goes by, majority of the players will then settle in to a routine, where they are on certain times of the day, instead of the crazy 24/7 schedule of the first couple of days.

Just be consoled in the knowledge that you won't have this recurring every fucking day like you find in most F2P titles...

So is there anything at all to do at Lv22? Pretty much stuck there due to being unable to finish the Grand Company intro and there's no more Lv20 quests, hunting logs and leves to do. Have like 700 gil left so crafting is out of the question too.

That's the position I was stuck in last night. Level 13, but unable to change classes. Hunt log completed as far as I could. No more quests available. Thankfully, I could do instances again this morning and I am back on track. Are you still having an instance problem?
