Phase 4 Woes

Anyone else with Error 3102? My legacy characters and the one I rolled on Leviathan are all locked out. Only the new one I rolled on a JP server is accessible. There are a lot of people with this problem (the forum crashed because of this ... Bayohne or another GM posted a thread to report the error and within 5 minutes, over 4,000 posts were entered and after a couple more thousand, the forum went belly up) and there's very plausible theories that I'm looking over on Reddit and Twitter indicating massive server data corruption.

What does this mean? More than likely data from P4 will not be carried over into EA/release. Anyway, stay tune, I'm sure they'll be making announcements in the coming hours and days.

Yeah, a few hours ago I was hit with the 3102 error after getting 90000'd after a dungeon run on the Hyperion server. Thankfully, I have Tales of Xillia to keep me entertained :D

Edit: Decided to try and create a new character on a JP server (Kujata). Everything was going alright, until I zoned into Central Thanalan... stuck in error 90000

I kept getting 1007 I think, or w/e it is that says the server's full.

3102'd last night after disconnecting as I got kicked out of an instanced Dungeon. That, and all of the friends I invited to play are getting the same thing, or unable to create a character on Excalibur, and they're not really patient people. D:

No issues with Legacy or New characters and can create them just fine.

Seriously, you all picked the wrong server, Balmung has been nothing but smooth all weekend.

The EN team on Twitter is eerily silent while the JP team has been furious. Something is up.

@Firewind: Just wait until you get hit with it. Several people on Balmung have been locked out as well (go check out that thread with over 12,000 replies from affected players) My friend has cheated death and avoided that twice now (he receives the error and then can get back in after immediately logging right back in)

As a food for thought, when I linked my PSN account to my SE one last night (after the lockouts), NONE of those locked out characters show up as being in existence. Which would indicate that (a) your character/world list is a local file and is just as corrupted as their server data and (b) affected players may have had their characters deleted or so corrupted that SE's account management system cannot make use of it.

Very worrisome considering that they said that initially data was being carried over to EA/release. I'm hoping they wipe out P4 data. It is beta afterall and I find it very weird that any company would want to carry over data, regardless if it's from open beta or otherwise (it's beta people, in case that didn't get conveyed)

Maybe once you are on, but I can't get on. I was out of town and got home around 3:30-4:00 EST. I logged in, created my new character using the data file from the Benchmark, then when I got to server selection - no new characters on Balmung. So I was cursing for a few minutes, then decided to just log on as my Legacy character and goof off. Well, I can't even do that. I never get any error, it just hangs endlessly at character creation (I edited my appearance).

So, I went back to creating my new character, and I am sitting at the server selection, doing light chores as I hit the refresh button every 3 minutes, waiting for Balmung to reopen.

Odd because I'm playing right now on Balmung and have been logged in all day. Are you sure it's not something on your end causing it?

Yeah, last night's traffic was fucking horrid. I don't get errors (On PS3) but I feel your pain with the waiting. I want to make a new character on Balmung.

I was finally able to get on as my 1.0 character, but only if I didn't attempt to change his appearance. No biggie, since I don't plan on keeping him - he's toast once I get his stuff. They have opened more worlds for new characters, so hopefully I can get an hour or two with my new guy later tonight.

That feeling when none of your co-workers or friends want to play with you and your other smaller group of friends because they refuse to be on a Legacy server. I really wanted to play with them, but I don't really want to give up my own character.

Just transfer off when they open transfers late September.

I thought it was a 6 month delay initially and then during PL VIII they said they would release more information at a later time. Or did they release updated information on server transfers?

Yeah I have a character on Goblin I want to move to Balmung. Since I'm livid at the fact that they locked Balmung. I didn't know Lima was a god damn island in the middle of bum fuck no where, I found this out too late and got stuck there., My initial solution was to delete the character and go to Gridania, but due to Balmung being locked I got NOPE.avi'd. So I'm probably gonna go back to Goblin until I can transfer. I tried with Firewind today to leave Lima via Teleporting, but it didn't work. You're stuck in a limbo in Lima from 10-15, especially with Arcanist, which I found to be a rather boring class versus using a THM and how their damage scales with how many Umbral's they have going.

Paid transfers open, I think they said about 2-3 weeks after launch; when asked about whether players would be able to move off legacy servers to a non-legacy--they pretty much said "we'll announce more details when available!". I'm pretty sure players will be able to move to legacy servers if they're on a non-legacy...though I could be wrong.
