Also find it interesting that you can't sub Stone anymore, just Aero (at least as an ACN). Stone would be super helpful for the Heavy effect soloing ><

You do know that Miasma has the heavy effect, right? 40% IIRC ... if it doesn't work, it's because you're using it on a mob that is immune to it (most bosses are immune to many status effects)

Miasma's not a very fast spell though, stone/blizzard cast nearly instantly.

Miasma has the exact same casting time as Stone/Blizzard at 2.5 seconds.

I open with Miasma and Bio, since those ticks will take a bit to ramp up the damage. Carby never gets enough aggro to tank mobs properly for me (might be because the mobs tend to be a level lower where my spells hit super hard) I love Miasma ... I set it and then run circles (literally) around the mob while Carby does most of the work. Before someone says that's inefficient, I'd like to say I can easily get to Chain #4 in this manner as long as there's plentiful mobs (not something that works well in a super crowded zone)

Coulda sworn stone and blizzard had faster speeds.

I usually open with Miasma anyway, following it up with Thunder and then Bio & Aero and just let carby hanlde things.

It was hysterical doing FATE with all the ACN running around as I'd often see like 20+ Bio effects on a single NM. I LOVE that you can stack DoTs now, lord knows that would have made life easier for mages in XI (especially RDM).

Not only can you stack DoTs, but yours are highlighted with green text so you can track them. It really saves having to make a programme to parse the battle log and alert you when DoTs have dropped off line on WoW.

Maybe I'm not giving ARC a good try, I'll pick it up again on the 24th and give it a whirl on my main, now that I know how to play. What I do like though is being able to Micro Manage Carby. You know what would be cool, is if you collected different gems to put onto Carbuncle to change his color/effects/role in the game.

I do like how micromanaging Carby is really easy and you can position the hotbar where you want. As you will see from my screenshots when I get around to sorting them (probably will have them up by Friday), I have it positioned just above my regular hotbars.

It's a good point to make. It's one thing if the acronym is distinct enough to know clearly what is being talked about, for example GLD vs GLA both clearly indicate Gladiator. But in this instance you are referring to a whole other Class with the error.

I'll be honest, I've used ARC referring to ACN way too many times during the Beta. Really hard habit to break.

It's a good point to make. It's one thing if the acronym is distinct enough to know clearly what is being talked about, for example GLD vs GLA both clearly indicate Gladiator. But in this instance you are referring to a whole other Class with the error.

But the entire thread is made for the conversation of the class in particular. It says it when you look at the thread. Him complaining about the Acronym doesn't change the fact that you still know what is being talked about in the first place. He's being picky. I'm not trying to get on him Wise, but Mal has a huge habit of bitching. (Not that I am any better, but toned down.)

Going further, it would make more sense to use ARC, considering its the first 3 letters of the class and makes it easier to remember versus ACN.
