    Re: New Benchmark!

I believe NVidia marketed the 760 as the "budget GPU for gamers"--yeah I know, $250~275 USD for a 'budget' card? Well anyway, I guess it's still vastly cheaper than the 770/780 lines so it kind of makes sense. If a 750 comes out I'll presume it's somewhere along the lines of 650ti/650ti boost in performance--likely better considering it's a new generation, but it'll end up being the card that's good enough on someone with a tight budget. For anyone who wants the extra 'umph' to push their settings on high or better, they'll end up having to SLI them or whatever.

The 750 is just a phantom to keep gamers on a string. AMD is not going to bite so Nvidia won't bother (there aren't even reference cards out and no one even knows if a 750Ti has even been taped out) You're better off with a 760 since it's better than a 660Ti, is less expensive ($249 vs $259 w/ $20 rebate last I checked) although consumes a bit more power (190w to 170w I believe) If there are any waves to be made, it will definitely be in the $250 to $400 range, since that's pretty much a dead area, and AMD will definitely make huge splashes for the holiday season to keep NV on its toes.

They do this kabuki dance every year. Mal, you're just wasting your time trying to find a "sweet spot", because truth be told, the moment you think you effectively have a good deal (a) that product is old shit anyway (b) something else will always come out cheaper a week after.
