Upcoming Beta Test Schedule: Jul. 10th 2:00
a.m. to Jul. 15th 2:00 a.m. (PDT) / Jul. 10th 9:00 to Jul. 15th 9:00
(GMT)

* Beta test phase 3 will conclude on Monday, July 15th. The
beta test phase 4 schedule will be announced at a later time.
* Testing of
the new Lodestone will conclude on Wednesday, July 17th at 2:00 a.m. (PDT) /
9:00 a.m.(GMT). Please note that the new Lodestone will be inaccessible when
testing has ended.

• Character Data From Beta Test Phase 3
  All character data will be deleted at the end of beta test phase 3.
  Although character data from Version 1.0 will also be deleted, data from the
  final save on October 31, 2012 will be transferred again at the beginning of
  beta test phase 4.
• The Beta Test Phase 3 Client
  The client for beta test phase 3 cannot be used for beta test phase
  4 or official service. Please delete the client at the end of this beta test
  phase.
• Character Appearance Data
  Character appearance data saved during beta test phase 3 can be used
  when creating a character during beta test phase 4 and official service. Those
  who wish to use their appearance data should not delete the following
  folder:

  • Windows
    My Documents -> My Games -> FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
    (Beta Version)
  • PlayStation®3
    (From "XMB") Game → Saved Data Utility (PS3TM)
    
    * Save data cannot be used after phase 4, and can safely be
    deleted.

  
  Those who do not intend to use character appearance
  data from beta test phase 3 may delete this folder. However, windows users
  should please note this folder also contains screenshots. Please move any
  screenshots you wish to save to a separate location before deleting this
  folder.
• Linking Square Enix Accounts to Sony Entertainment Network Accounts
  Square Enix accounts linked to Sony Entertainment Network accounts
  during beta test phase 3 will be unlinked at the end of
  testing.
• Beta Test Phase 4
  Details on the beta test phase 4 schedule, testing scope, and client
  will be announced at a later time.
  
  

Niconico Broadcast July 14th
The third FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn talk session with Hiroyuki Nishimura and Naoki Yoshida on Niconico will be streamed on Sunday, July 14th. The program will contain live gameplay footage on the beta servers, which may require us to impose login restrictions.

Woohoo! I can play on more than just Saturday! Also glad to see that the DF testing went well - at least I assume it did, as we are going into the extended test so soon after the last test ended. Means things are testing well, server side, amirite?

I'm thankful that I used Phase 3 to try out all of the classes to see what I liked best. If data from P4 is being saved then I'm pretty likely to be going for THM/BLM unless THF gets announced before release.

That's interesting, so there will be a new client entirely for P4?

I hope then, since P4 carries into release that those of us who are owners of the original game can just get an update or something afterwards rather than download yet another client once P4 ends.

I can still dream! Maybe it will come after Arcanist, Scholar, Summoner, Musketeer, the rumoured Corsair, the obligatory Red Mage (even though you can easily make one), Dark Knight and Ranger!

Haste and Slow aren't in the game as spells available to players yet, so there's hope for Taskmage yet.

And I sincerely hope they only affect auto-attack speed; don't need a repeat of FFXI.

At the moment the curve is too shallow really. Which is good because they can experiment with tweaking the curve without having to put a hard cap on it like in FFXI. By making Spell/Skill Speed a rating rather than flat percentage, they have already fixed many of the problems that Haste caused in FFXI.
