I think most people who play archer don't want to be a lame bard, and just because you like a sword and shield combo doesn't mean you want to be a white knight.

It's just the idea of how easy it is to hit level cap in FFXIV as is. With future jobs probably not leveling independently, it's going to make the starting areas totally obsolete two years down the road, unless SE can keep a constant flow of new players -- which not even WoW could do. Also don't want to unlock Ranger and already be at level cap because I have Bard at cap... That doesn't make sense to me. Why even have levels then? Just put everyone to a base level and make the entire game focus on gear grind.

SCH has traditionally been like a RDM but even more focused on magic, eschewing melee entirely.

My money's on RDM being a GLA job still - would make the most sense anyway.

Not sure what you're complaining about exactly Etra - really have to be careful about the NDA here, but I don't think people will be capping out as fast as you think. Besides, Yoshida's going to try and raise the level cap soon after launch as well. Last I checked I think it's planned for Patch 2.2 but we'll see. Pretty sure some of the new primal fights will be scaled to the new caps as well.

I just preordered for the PS3. It says the game is available for pre-order pickup on 8/27, but since we pre-ordered it, we get to start playing before others. When does the actual release start for those that can't start early?

If they are an "abusive employer" the associates should work elsewhere. Walmart losing all of it's employees would force them to change if this is indeed the case.
