It's a 3 option poll, FFXIV, Elder Scrolls and some no-name MMO that's probably some inconsequential F2P WoW clone. Not exactly a compelling data set.

Well I did some forum investigation, and man that is fun, and it seems like after TM and Armando made up the new rule of locking threads after the OP has posted 3 times in a row without a thanks or another members post, the moderators were going to lock the thread. Raydeus had a few threads he posted in way more than most people and would be subject to this new rule and thus would be locked, they were some good reads though, like the favorite anime thread. So it looks like he bailed... Sucks... I enjoyed Ray. Weird i just noticed he was gone though...

Huh? What do you mean by "they"? AFAIK, Raydeus was one person, posting from Mexico. And not sure what FFXIV discussion has to do with his non-appearance to Dreams in Vanadiel for several months now (Raydeus didn't just post in the FFXIV forum)

Unless you and Raydeus are the same person ... which would make sense ... I had been wondering about it for a while now ...

Anyway, some people's speaking styles refer to one person as "they".
Like someone went to the store to buy something. Some people may say it like "Oh, they went to the store to buy something."

It might not be grammatically/englishly correct, but let's not argue between catsup and ketchup, mew.

There are a lot of communication styles widely used, even online, that isn't "proper" english, but it's not hard to understand communication styles that slightly differ from what you use.

With that said, I bring you my Spanglish :D. "So what's up con el ARR Launch en Agosto del 2013? Quiero que sea NOW but I can't wait" lmao. It is just an example. This what we refer to Spanglish very known in places of United Stated where the Hispanic community is larger than the Americans like Miami, FL for example and a few others.

Anyways, my grammar is bad as well because of the lack of practice. Well I kinda practice with FFXIV game and communicating on the forums.

Not sure why he'd bail over that. If people read his threads then a single thanks would've kept them from being locked. Also I think he stuck around for quite a while after that discussion.

There's a big difference between "he" and "they" and has nothing to do with whether or not English is your first language or second. You've been on these forums long enough (and assume you've lived in Canada long enough) that you shouldn't have to rely on such a flimsy excuse.

Both can be used to refer to them. "They" is still usable for 3rd person reference.

You can play english teacher all you like, but people can use whatever communication style they want and still be understood, especially a basic word alternative like "they".

It's not an excuse, you are just too narrow minded to accept the english language in more ways that you wouldn't speak yourself.
It's ridiculous that you have an issue with using the word "they" to refer to someone.

It's still referring to the person someone is talking about. "They" doesn't always have to refer to more than one person.
