The unofficial city for Hyurs. I luv Bastok, but that felt more like a Galka town 70% of the time. Now Ul'dah, THAT feels like a Hume/Hyur city. =^^= Limsa is the unofficial city for Roegadyns, Gridania is Miquo'te and Lalafells obviously. As for Elezens, maybe a bit of each city, or maybe Ishgard is their unofficial city. Well you could say Ul'dah is really like if people could actually select Jeuno as their hometown/nation, city with diverse variety of people, mew.

I'm not saying it's the XIV version of Bastok. They are very different city designs. but what I am saying is that out of the 3 Eorzea cities known, Ul'dah has the more Hyur feel to it (just like Bastok was more of a Hume dominant city, compared to Sandoria and Windhurst, although Bastok felt more Galka dominant than Hume dominant to me. Especially if I recall, Galka themselves built the city. Jeuno felt like Hume central.)Yea I don't know Ul'dah lore like you do, but just meaning from artistic perspective, Ul'dah represents Hyurs more than Limsa (Roegadyns) or Gridania (Miquo'te, Lalafells) would. They are citystates, not countries, but it's natural to relate a city to a particular race more than others, mew. I can't point out which of the 3 cities the Elezen have more affinity to, but they probably fit right in alongside Hyurs as dominant races in Ul'dah. Either that or Limsa.

None of the cities really scream one race or another. I tried to think the same way, but I think they went the extra mile to shake that perception off.

Well, Gridania does kinda scream "elf" as they're really sorta rocking the more traditional style of elves in XIV (whereas they were more Nordic in FFXI; although they're still gargantuan in XIV lol) but otherwise yes I agree, and it's a nice change.
