That is strange. Well bots are kind of funny at times, especially the ones where they follow each other and stuff. I'm sure those bots will find a hobby like eat ice cream or make some pie, mew.

Why on earth would there be bots in beta? Not saying you're wrong, but it'd be concerning one way or another if true.

There were tons of bots in 1.0, which was most likely a huge waste of time and money for the botters.

There is a well-known FFXIV bot creator (who also created for FFXI apparently) that sent a tweet recently saying that his scripts seem to be working well with ARR. The thing is, I've been trying to get SE to shut this dude down for a long while. He also has an FB page and sells his stuff with IP registered through an American domain service and on local servers. But he's definitely foreign (not Japanese, I think he might be Thai, since I saw one of his website page scripts break and the character encode was in Thai) SE could easily get his FB and Twitter shut-down and probably tie-up his merchant account so he can't receive any payment. But I guess 1.0 was a wash and they didn't care. Hopefully they will care enough to go after him this time.

Edit: The funny thing was that there were rumors that his 'products' injected a trojan which would capture log-in information and he would then hijack player's account. He denied it and according to those that support him, they said his stuff is legit. I'm guessing smear campaign from competitive botters?

Is the beta up and running now or is it under going maintenance and coming up later? I want to make sure it downloaded correctly. When i went to login last night it said its down for maintenance.
