Raiding is a term that pre-dates FFXI and is/was used extensively by Yoshi-P in describing FFXI, especially in relationship to FFXIV. It is FFXI players that only played FFXI that has a difficulty in grasping and dealing with terminologies used by many other games.

I don't give a rat's ass if you called raiding "smoking crack" in FFXI ... everyone else sees it as raiding.

Again, you're calling out cid for saying Raiding was not a term used in XI, saying that it was, when it wasn't. The entire time I played XI from 2003 to 2007 I did not hear raiding used as a term. Ever. I also didn't see it as raiding, so please avoid sweeping statements. Those are gaping holes (and not the good kind) in arguments.

You may call it raiding outside the game looking in, but it's not a term used within the community. That doesn't make someone elitist because they don't use your vocabulary. THAT is elitist.

It's simple guys, the term raiding was never used in ffxi, and it is used in ffxiv.

So... yeah.

Way off track now. Can lock thread now, as who knows when Phase 2 will be and it doesn't look like we're about to all join together on 1 server, at least for this phase.
