Wired connection is just stronger.

Case in point, my PS3, even at 100% signal strength, only functions at half the speed it does when plugged into the router via a cable. I find wireless signals tend to be more susceptible to randomly dropping the connection. I do not like wireless. Love the concept, hate all the tech I've used thus far.

Probably more the PS3's fault than wireless technology in general.

Ironically, the router Brighthouse gave me never reaches the bandwidth I'm paying for when I use a cable (whereas it does on wireless.) I have no explanation for this. Does that mean wireless is better? No. I've probably just got a weird router.

In practice, the only time you should care about wired vs wireless in your own home is when transferring files within your own LAN.
