Note: I’ll try my best to translate once again. Live translations are much much harder than regular translations so I apologize in advance for any stuff I may miss during the live broadcast.

f ok next one, in ARR how is fishing? please explain
y the best way is to try it out but talking about the concept. I used to fish as a child, but for mmo there are times i want to chat and stuff so using the armoury system we wanted people to change to fisher and change gear to that water and fish. It’s made so you don’t need optimal gear but anyways we have it made where it’s not where it requires action.
it’s something where players can enjoy fishing in fresh water, sea water.

Y I see... might be weird but this affects the cut scenes a lot, we have added lots of them in class quests but when you make the pose, to do both hands it makes it really hard. Also there is the memory issue. This one is actually really hard. might inconience you but in world of Eorzea just think that you’re right handed.

y you equip the gear, you fight, for those with spirit bond if you get even 1 it will be bound to you.

y even if the crafters make new items the old stuff remains in teh market and that’s hard to control the economy so to resolve this we have this in place.
y like also there are times you want to hand down your used items to your friends and stuff but there isn’t much issue for gear up till 50 so with that in mind it’s better to have the crafters to be able to make new gears for them.

y when gatherer gathers from different nodes you find a trasure map and with that you and your friends go out and go find that treasure.

f. chocobo raising, any info?
y first is to release housing, you can have chocobo stable in the yard, then raise chocobo.

y talking about previous FFXIV it’s said chocobo was finally released from ishgard so story is leading from that.

f: will mobs get damage from height?
Y mobs are mobs, they wont take damage but if it’s pvp.. yeah

f there was a quest mark on fire what was that, the one that looks like meteor icon

y if you don’t see this mark then there are other stuff you need to do, and if you do this one it will change the main story/quest.

f when using content finder whats going to happen if its same name/last name?
y there isn’t any problem as characters are tied to ID’s aside from the name, you could have same name in the same party in this type of case.

y were talking about making a complete new system for the gear set

y we’re calling it armoury board. it’s like alias’s you can move around geras between different sets.

f: whats up with the large adaman in the benchmark, would we be able to fight mob with that size?
y: we had this prepared to show at the stores, that’s why you see the loop button. But in phase 1 we got some large mobs so try that out first, and if you want bigger then we can look into it positively.
y: i personally like huge mobs so ive been telling dev bigger bigger

y the next one we’re going to is something like that
y first off is to take care of these guys

y as long as you’re in the circle you join fate, and if you go back in range you’re back in fate automatically.

y its made so not much healing is required so you can freely join without worrying

y when you do something like that, you will die, oh he died, hope that wasn’t wada-san
y so you fight back while they try to break the gate and try and defend.
y post level 5 there are lots in there so please test them out.
y back to retainers if you want to change their names we’ll see how much people want that and will look into this.
y oh sorry, Im level 50 so i didn’t get any reward but in actual after the fate you would see a reward screen.

f how will you fight NM’s are they through fate.
y there are NM’s in fates, while doing quests and stuff you’ll see an announcement that fate has started so you can join in with others in the area and try them out. there are big ones so pleasel ook forward to it.

f has the battle speed changed/
y it’s 0.5 seconds faster on global cooldown but as you can see it’s not much

F. for FC what kind of achievements, what merits are there

Y well there is achievement for starting FC or when you reach number of members
y or stuff like everyone from fc clear certain amount quest/fates there are achievements

y FC is a group so don’t want to do something like that where you may have some that don’t show up for a while making others mad saying “why doesn’t he show up”

y - we are working on a software token which can be used in XI, XIV, and smile (DQX)
y and there will be one speicifc for XIV
y this time we want to work more on teh database this time so on the phone you can search the item and check which npc gives that and quests and stuff, we’re going to have all that. It’s as an app so you won’t need to have network connection after download for this stuff to look.

Hah ... you may not have left much out, but the translator left a ton of dialog untranslated. 2 hrs of discussion with only barely a couple of pages in transcript? O_o

He was doing it in real time as it was happening, and there was a shittonne of traffic (not to mention the video stream froze briefly a few times) so I'd say he did fairly well.

The official translation will clear things up - when it gets posted in like 2 weeks. seriously why does it always take them so damn long?

Because they don't necessarily have a translator that understands video game speak. I bet those kinds of translators are quite rare in the industry and most of them work for the companies to do localization work anyway (pays more) I'm sure it gets translated and then QA'd by someone here in the US and then when the regional execs approve, it gets published.
